What does it mean to be a 'Mrs'...?

OOOoooo, a week from today we’ll be celebrating at the Raw Union festie in S. Oregon and getting the final preparations in place for our wedding on the 21st– yeeeeeeeee–HAH ;)
Will you be there to join us? Don’t forget to send in your contribution for the Raw Union Time Capsule if you’re not going to be there in person ;) You can send things to:

Raw Union Festival - Time Capsule Contribution
c/o Angel’s Organic Farm
9394 Blackwell Rd.
Central Point, OR 97502

We’ve just heard that Justin and Heidi from RawFoodRightNow.com will be joining us at the festie to renew their wedding vows and celebrate 5 years on a raw path together – nice :) See HERE for their blog post about the festie.
Don’t forget to check out the Raw Union community rideshare board too, if you’d love to find someone to share the journey with – you can see that HERE.

on June the 10th I had:

1 quart water
shot of wheatgrass
2 cups greeeeen juice
25 chlorella ‘nuts’
2 cups yummy energy soup, followed by 1 Tbsp Goji Bliss
3 cups water
delicious pre–wedding trial feast of some of the buffet dishes and desserts (secrets for now – lol, sorry - Solla is working her magic ;)
mug of spicy tea
3 cups water

Soooo, it seems I have one week left of being a ‘Miss’...before I become a Stokes–Monarch... I’m not sure yet if I’ll step into the title of ‘Mrs’ – that somehow feels a bit distant and ‘real’ to me – like I might have to start wearing a pinafore or smthg if I take that name ;) ...I suspect I may become a ‘Ms’ instead...and maybe someday I’ll gain an extra ‘r’...we’ll see...it feels rather odd as well to think that in a week’s time someone is going to be referring to me as ‘my wife’...I haven’t had that title yet in this lifetime and it seems very unfamiliar...I think that’s going to take a while to get used to ;)
As I mentioned before, I didn’t anticipate marrying at all when I was growing up, so this is all rather peculiar territory to me – Mr. M and I are both very excited about the upcoming festie celebrations though and co–creating a witnessed heart–space in community, within which to clarify our commitments and intentions with each other. We’re also feeling incredibly blessed to have had the marvellous Laura Fox heading up the organisation of this whole event – she is such a pro and has pulled everything together into a vibrant, exciting festie for all to enjoy – thanks so much Laura :)
We look forward to connecting with y’all at Raw Union next weekend, if you can be there in person – you can get your tickets at RawUnion.com if you don’t already have them...

on June the 11th I had:

1 quart water
2 cups greeeeeeeen juice

1 quart water

on June the 12th I had:

1 quart water

Mr Monarch vs. David Wolfe - Durian Eating Contest ;)

PHeeeewwwww ;) We're just back from a wild weekend at the Raw Spirit Fest in Santa Barbara - fun ;) ...and it's less than TWO WEEKS now until our Raw Union festival and wedding - eeeeeeek ;)
I am THRILLED to say that among the new additions to the event line-up for the festie is smthg EVERYONE can contribute to, no matter where you are, or whether or not you're able to join us in the physical for the event...
We are going to be burying a TIME CAPSULE during the wedding celebrations, packed with momentos, pictures, goodies, predictions, hair locks, love letters, trinkets, bim-bobs and whatever other little paraphernalia y'all might love to contribute ;)
The intention is to bury the time capsule to mark the celebration, plant a fruit tree nearby, then re-convene in 50 years time on the Summer Solstice, with whoever remembers ;) On June 21st, 2059, let's see who is still around in the physical to re-open the capsule and revel in the messages from half a century before...
I love time capsules; I've buried two before - one in the UK and one in The Netherlands... I'm excited to co-create this third, beautiful, memorable collection for our future enjoyment...and I hope you'll join us by bringing along or sending in whatever you'd love to contribute to the capsule. Examples might be a picture, a 'trinket' of some kind, your vision for the future of the raw foods movement, a tape/disc, your gratitude list, a tooth, a lock of hair and so on...whatever you feel you'd love for someone to unwrap in 50 years time and remember you by ;) We'd prefer to receive smaller sized capsule contributions rather than bulky items, to make sure there is room for everyone to contribute to the box ;)
If you're coming to the Raw Union festie, just bring your contribution along with you. If you're not able to be there in the physical, you can send your contribution by post to:

Raw Union Festival - Time Capsule Contribution
    c/o Angel’s Organic Farm
    9394 Blackwell Rd.
    Central Point, OR 97502

THANKS :) We look forward to co-creating this fun event with you :))))
See you soon at RawUnion.com - remember, festie ticket prices increase on June 10th, so let us know sooooon if you're going to be joining us ;)

    Top Juicer Recommendation?

We just chose at random the winner of the last RawReform Giveaway Contest, to win a signed copy of my book ‘Raw Emotions’. CONGRATULATIONS to Dianna Banzhaf, who sent in the following answer to the question ‘What is your TOP suggestion for handling food cravings?’:

“I like to do deep breathing. I count to 10 SLOWLY. And breath deeply. I then try to regain focus by doing a kundalini yoga trick by closing my eyes and focus at the brow point or ''third eye'' and if that doesn’t do the trick then I add the words Sat Nam. While inhaling I think ''Sat'' and while exhaling I think ''Nam''. It means true identity. Usually this helps me to be in the moment and remember my self and not be ''attached'' to what I think I am or ''need''.
    And then o
f course if I still feel that I actually need a similar food, there is usually something amazing available in one of my raw cook books or ready for picking in nature that will cure it.
P.S. Thanks for the opportunity and I love all the great information you give. It is such raw love and support exuding from you both. Have a wonderful wedding and life together."

    Dianna Banzhaf

There were suddenly a lot of messages from people recently asking for juicer recommendations – I guess there’s a flow to get juicier for summertime – nice ;)
I thought I’d give some general guidance about juicers here from my perspective, in case others out there have similar Qs at the moment...

In terms of great all-round juicers...it really depends what you're looking for; top of the range in most cases is going to be the Green Star or a similar twin–gear juicer. Green Stars cost abt $400 new and make very high quality juice that will keep well for abt 24 hours or more, if kept refrigerated in sealed mason jars. Twin gear juicers leave dry pulp, are great with leafy greens and are ok in terms of cleaning.
Otherwise, if you want smthg easier to clean/quicker to use, then probably the Breville Juice Fountain would be for you. The Juice Fountains are centrifugal ejection juicers and cost about $150. The feed chute for the produce is BIG, meaning you can fit whole apples in, for example, without cutting them up (saves time on food prep). The pulp comes out quite wet though and you often get unjuiced leafy greens with these kinds of juicers – they work better with things like celery, cucumbers, carrots etc than leafy greens. The juice oxidizes quicker with centrifugal ejection juicers, so it’s best to always drink it immediately. We recommend passing both the juice and the pulp through a nut milk bag, to get all the fiber out and squeeeeze more juice out of that wet leftover pulp ;)
For many people, the Norwalk Juicer is the ultimate choice. These hydraulic press machines produce juice of the most outstanding quality and the juice stores well for up to 72 HOURS in sealed jars in a fridge. Norwalks are very heavy, a little ‘clunky’ to use and cost around $2400 – no juicer compares though in terms of juice quality.
In the end, the best juicer for you tends to be the one you're actually going to USE ;) A juicer sitting in a dusty kitchen cupboard isn’t much help to anyone’s health ;)
    I hope that helps...

    All love,
    Miss Stokes. xxx
