Why Am I Not Losing Weight on Raw?" - Your Qs Answered...

A little reminder that tonight we intend to enjoy another LIVE broadcast for The Raw Food World TV Show :) We had *great* fun on the first live show last week and hope you'll join us for this show tonight at THIS LINK :)

------------

In the meantime, I thought y'all might enjoy seeing a little article I just sent out in my newsletter this week, called "Why Am I Not Losing Weight on Raw?" - Your Qs Answered... the article is set out below, betwixt the food logs...ENJOY :)

-------------
One of the questions from readers that I get asked most often by email is "Why am I not losing weight on raw?"
While in my experience *most* people who start eating primarily raw, fresh, whole foods start to release weight, there are others who seem to struggle...here is some of the guidance I usually share with people in this situation:

There could be any number of factors at play in a situation where someone is holding on to excess weight... One of the first things I would suggest to consider is your thyroid - have you been tested recently for any possible thyroid issues?
If you are not eating totally raw, what else are you eating that is not raw? That is a huge area of consideration in itself; if you are consuming 'toxic' foods such as processed starches and refined sugars even a little, you are not giving your body the opportunity to take healing to the next level. This is KEY for losing weight - cut those highly processed foods out of your intake *completely* and you will very likely start to see results.

on March the 28th I loved:

1 quart water
water of 2 *amazing* young coconuts
2 shots yummy wheatgrass juice mixture at Vilcabamba market
a red banana
2 cups greeeeeen/carrot juice
big bowl of fruit salad with chia-cinnamon-maca-almond milk pudding on top - WOW :) LOVE chia ;)
mug of reishi/shilajit/ormus tea with cinnamon-maca-almond milk stirred in - OUTRAGEOUS :)
3 cups water
2 cups coconut water mixed with Phytoplankton
another outstanding mug of reishi/shilajit/ormus tea with cinnamon-maca-almond milk stirred in, accompanied by a little raw cookie 'batter' while preparing for the dehydrator...;)
1 cup water

Eating late in the day, when the sun has gone down and/or other-than-optimal food combining can be big issues for people too. Aim to have your biggest meal of the day in the middle of the day rather than in the evening and watch for known food combining issues such as starchy foods with protein-rich foods, fruit/sugary food with protein-rich food and so on...do your best to keep things simple for your digestive tract and you may even find digestive enzymes useful to help move things along more easily...
Not getting enough exercise to keep burning up the stuff you're eating is another key area to consider too...for example, consuming lots of sugars/fruits combined with a sedentary lifestyle is not a great combo... ;)
My main question for anyone in this situation is: are you doing any regular colon cleansing? I feel that this is another vital part of keeping up with our detox when we choose a raw lifestyle. Whether you are doing professional colonics or just enemas at home, most of us have *so* much to release that if you're not keeping up with that releasing process through internal cleansing, you can easily run into back-up issues.
I strongly recommend reading the 'How to go Raw' article by Mr. Monarch if you haven't already, to get more perspective on this matter - see HERE; the 'Blood Gas' and 'Missing Link' articles might be great to review too...

on March the 29th I enjoyed:

1 quart water
3 cups coconut water mixed with Marine Phytoplankton and Chocolate Extract Drops
2 cups greeeeeen juice mixed with carrot juice
flax crackers topped with avo mush (avocado, basil, garlic, dulse, salt, lime juice), chopped toamtoes and lettuce, followed by a chunk of raw 'cookie' mixture from dehydrator - yummmmm ;)
mug of reishi/shilajit/ormus tea
3 cups water
2 cups coconut water mixed with Marine Phytoplankton and Chocolate Extract Drops
bowl of fruit salad (dragon fruit, papaya, banana) with maca-cinnamon-almond-milk soaked chia
2 cups water

on March the 30th I was blissed with:

1 quart water
2 cups coconut water mixed with Marine Phytoplankton
2 cups greeeeeeen juice mixed with carrot juice
flax crackers topped with avo mush (avocado, basil, garlic, dulse, salt, lime juice), chopped toamtoes and lettuce, followed by a chunk of raw 'cookie' mixture from dehydrator - yummmmm ;)
3 cups water
2 cups coconut water mixed with Marine Phytoplankton
2 cups greeeeeeen juice mixed with carrot juice
2 cups water

Also consider how many GREENS you're eating in contrast to other foods - leafy green vegetables in particular are *vital* for feeling balanced, mineralised, calm and alkalising the body to help release excess weight. Especially at the start of raw food journeys, many people tend to over-do heavy 'gourmet' dishes, with lots of dried fruits, nuts, seeds and so on and perhaps don't include as many greeeeens as might be optimal...make sure you're drinking at least one green drink a day to help your body release: that might be a green juice, green smoothies (blending together leafy greens with fruit in a blender), or even just a green powder in liquid...salads, green soups and salad dressings are all great ways to get more greeeeens into your body ;)

We can of course also consider weight retention from more 'emotional/spiritual/psychological' perspectives too, which is an area my book "Raw Emotions" goes into in depth...for now, you might ask yourself a few simple questions such as:

*"What do I *get* from not releasing this weight?"
*"Am I afraid to be slimmer/healthy/radiant?"
*"Which blocks can I identify in my life path right now around weight release?"
*"Am I truly *happy* eating raw, or am I forcing myself and feeling 'deprived'?"
*"Which one thing that I'm not currently doing, could I do on a daily basis that I *know* would help me to release weight and transform my life?"
*"Am I overeating and if so, what triggers me into that?"
*"Are there any big emotional blocks in my life I am yet to resolve (jealousies, resentments, bitterness) - if yes, why do I resist letting go of this painful baggage?"

...and so on...simple healing techniques such as reiki or Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), can help people resolve these kinds of blocks and release excess weight too...
I hope all of that helps give some 'food for thought' to anyone sitting with a plateau right now - best wishes to you all... ;)

"Anastasia" Interview Playback Available NOW :)

WOW, did you listen in live to the radio show interview Mr. M did with Dr. Leo Sharashkin on Friday night? Mmmmmm, what a wonderful inspiration Dr. Leo is, stepping from a projected path of corporate business life into becoming the editor of the phenomenal "Anastasia" books into English, moving onto a plot of land, homebirthing and raising three vibrant children with his lovely wife, co-creating their kins' domain garden and now sharing workshops worldwide based on Anastasia's simple and profound message - to get to the land and start growing ;) Well, in truth, she shares a *lot* more than that in these books - this is the core message that I took from this life-shifting series though and it was SUCH a blessing to be able to speak with Leonid directly about this revolution...

If you missed the call, the free interview *PLAYBACK* can still be heard over at TheRawFoodWorldRadioShow.com until midnight Pacific time tonight (Sunday) - the special book offers on the call are also available until midnight Pacific tonight - enjoy :)))

on March the 26th I appreciated:

1 quart water
1.5 cups carrot juice blended with Vitamineral Green
1 tbsp bee pollen, 30 chlorella tablets
2 cups greeeeeeeeen juice mixed with carrot juice
bowl of blended lucuma/coconut pudding with dulse and flax crackers
mug of reishi/shilajit/ormus tea
3 cups water
2 cups greeeeeeen juice mixed with carrot juice
bowl of broccoli salad (chopped broccoli, avo/basil sauce, dulse, chopped tomatoes), followed by a few slices of dried plantain
2 cups water

Mmmmmmm, I hope y'all enjoyed the recent 'WISH' Summit as much as I did - in fact I'm *still* listening to the calls now, there were so many of them and soooo much amazing info to absorb...if any of you missed the Summit or didn't hear as much of it as you would have loved to, this is a little reminder that the RawReform Giveaway prize this month is a full 'back-stage-pass' for the WISH Summit, so that the blessed winner can access the call playbacks whenever they want - yeeeeeeeeee-HAH ;)
This giveaway closes this Thursday, April 1st, so...don't be a 'fool' ;) ...get your entry in before mid-week to potentially secure your own back-stage pass to an absolute bounty of enriching interviews. Just send in your A to the following Q, to be in with a chance of winning:

"What is *your* brightest wish for the young girls of today?"

Send your entries in to angela@rawreform.com and the winner will be picked at random and with love around the start of April...thanks, we love you :)

on March the 27th I enjoyed:

1 quart water
2 cups greeeeeen juice mixed with carrot juice
bowl of leftover broccoli salad (chopped broccoli, avo/basil sauce, dulse, chopped tomatoes), followed by a few macadamia nuts with raisins
3 cups water
chunk of pineapple
shared yummy meal of guacamole, veggie crudites & flax crackers, followed by half a banana
2 mugs reishi/shilajit/ormus tea
2 cups water

I mentioned Anastasia's message above, to 'get to the land and start growing food' and wow, things are unfolding for us with such joy in that direction right now - we've been planting trees almost daily the last few weeks, plus getting the veggie garden beds ever-nearer to planting stage - YAY :) Today we picked up a whole new set of trees to plant too: dragon fruit, mulberries, macadamias, almonds...and many more on the way - we LOVE it :)))

On the subject of planting, many of you have been writing recently too, to let us know how *your* gardens and plant babies are coming along - it's especially exciting to hear how many of you have been planting up the heirloom tomato seeds that were offered last week, plus so many of you seem to have been having GREAT success with the outrageously prolific Ice Cream Bean seeds ;) Here's a message from one reader, JoAnn, about her experience so far with the Ice Cream Beans:

"I purchased two pods and planted all the seeds from one pod. I am pleased to announce I am now the custodian of more than twenty little new seedlings. I started them shortly after receiving them from you folks in late Feb they emerged March 10th.

You are so right they are prolific. Twenty something little seedlings from one pod. Now I'm waiting for at least two sets of true leaves to appear so I can move each new seedling into it's own 2 gal nursery pot. Care for the seedlings in my heated greenhouse until the weather is warm enough. Weather conditions prevailing set them out side for the summer. As I live just north of Seattle, Washington (not exactly tropical weather) it will not be until July I can safely set them out. The Ice Cream Bean trees will need to overwinter inside a greenhouse until next year. Then to new homes with really big greenhouses.

I bet I'm the only one on my street with an Ice Cream Bean forest. Thanks !

Honored to hold the light of awareness, joy and magic
Thank you, JoAnn"

;) LOVE it ;)

All love and lightning blessings of divine alignment to you all,

WOW...we have some new products at TheRawFoodWorld.com that Mr. Monarch and I are silly-excited about ;) This new line of *potent*, cold-extracted flavour extracts is like nothing else we've ever seen. Remember those little bottles of unpleasant synthetic vanilla extracts you might have used to make cakes in the '80s, well, imagine a new line of extracts that can be used for cakes, cookies, smoothies, teas and so on that are 100% pure, cold-extracted, wildcrafted or organically grown, made with love, stored in dark glass and absolutely BURSTING with flavour... ;) That's what we've got our sticky little hands on and we *LOVE* them :)
The creator of these amazing extracts was at our wedding last June in Oregon, where her business is based and she gave us some of her amazing products, which we loved...then recently she expanded the line even more to include a *dark chocolate* extract with NO stimulating caffeine or theobromine and that was the tipping point - we loved this new extract SO much that we decided to pick up a whole selection of these profound extracts for the store...we now carry the following five delicious flavours:

*Dark Chocolate*Coconut*Vanilla*Coffee*Strawberry*

I took a pudding made with coconut, honey and just four drops of the chocolate extract to a women's gathering recently and all the gathered goddesses went *CRAZY* for this stuff...Mr. M and I have been using it in teas, cookie mixtures, puddings and other dishes too - absolutely outstanding :) You can see us discussing the extracts in this video here:

...and you can get some of these extracts to play with for yourself, from TheRawFoodWorld.com HERE - ENJOOOOYYY :)

All love and cascading yumminess,

It's the 2010 "Biodynamic Cherry Tomato Challenge", wherein anyone can receive *free* seeds to grow their own biodynamic cherry tomatoes from a 20+ year old heirloom variety of tomatoes :)

A wonderful fellow raw foodie gardener friend, Curt Nicholas, has been working with a master gardener in the last years and they currently have a little STASH of supreme tomato seeds that they'd *love* to share with the raw community. Their vision is to have at least 200 people growing these plants this year - our seeds are on the way to us - will you join in the community fun too?

Curt did an excellent write-up on this tomato growing challenge on his "Spiritual Gardening" blog, HERE, so I encourage you to hop over there for all the details and to find out how to register to get YOUR free tomato seeds, wherever you may be in the world...just fill in your address details in the box to the right of the screen and the seeds will be sent to you soooooon...

**NOTE: this Tuesday, March 23rd is the LAST DAY to apply for seeds,
so get in there QUICK if you want to participate ;)**

Please also note the Paypal 'donate' button underneath the box where you enter your address. If you feel drawn to send the guys a little 'gratitude' donation for all the amazing love and work that they are channelling into this tomato project, then that will be very much appreciated, to help cover the costs of envelopes, stamps etc...even a $1 donation would be excellent - and what an investment - $1 for a potential whole CROP of biodynamic, love-rich tomatoes that you've grown yourself - love it... ;)

OoOoooooo, I am EXCITED to say that our interview with Dr. Leonid Sharashkin on The Raw Food World Radio Show is coming up THIS week - Friday March 26th :) Leonid is the translator of the "Anastasia" books into English from Russian, as well as a permaculturist, father, teacher and visionary...I think this is the interview I'm most excited about so far - I squealed when Mr. M announced Leonid as the next guest, on last month's show ;) lol...it feels *almost* like a direct connection to the goddess of the Taiga herself, Anastasia ;)

Mr. Monarch reports:
"We are SO EXCITED to interview Leonid!!! I have so many questions for him. The main one being... Of course... "Does Anastasia exist?". We all may have a good idea of what his answer will l
ikely be, however, I don't intend to give up easily with this question. We're going to push some buttons and go DEEP into the truth...

Additionally, we have many other questions for Leonid in regards to the Anastasia way of life and permaculture. Lastly, we heard a rumor that a tenth Anastasia book has been released. I want to know if this is true and if he plans on translating it any time soon!!!"

New Store and Q&A Forum for TheRawFoodWorld.com - 13% OFF ANY ORDER :)))

OOOooooo my Goddess, we are *SO* excited to share our news with you that after over a year in the making, TheRawFoodWorld.com has had a complete makeover and is now MUCH more user-friendly, modern-looking and BEAUTIFUL :)))) YAY :)
To celebrate, we are offering everyone a HUGE 13% OFF discount coupon for ANY newlogorfw.jpgorder at the store, until Midnight Pacific time, this Sunday, March the 21st. The coupon code is "NewStore" and you can use that all this week at www.TheRawFoodWorld.com to get 13% OFF any order :)

The new version of the site went live this weekend and has been attracting lots of lovely feedback already - thank you :) There is a new look for the Store, PLUS our TV and Radio Shows have a gorgeous new home HERE and we even added a totally new "Q&A Forum" area, where you can get your questions answered about the raw lifestyle, in a community setting.

We are sooooo thrilled to bring you these new sites...and I am especially excited to let all of you outside of the USA know that *finally* the new site is set up to handle International orders smoooothly :)))) This feature of the store has been a long time coming - every day for the last few years, we have received emails from people all over the world wanting to place an order and finding the store process complex and confusing to do so - well, no more ;) Now the Store is finally set up to process International orders just as easily as domestic orders - HURRAAAAAAAAY (I am sure that our customer services team especially are cheering with delight now... ;)

The new Q&A Forum Area has a unique format, developed by computer programmers, which allows anyone to answer and ask questions and everyone gets to 'vote' on which answer they feel makes the most sense...the answers with the most 'thumbs up' float up to the top of the pile, which makes it much easier for those seeking answers to sift out the most useful info...you can join in the Q&A fun at the new site HERE.

I am constantly amazed when I think that Mr. M started the whole Raw Food World site a decade or so ago in his mum's house, doing ALL the work himself...to see how far the site and this community has come in the last 10 years is astounding to me - and it is our hope and desire that these spangly NEW sites will help to keep on supporting the expansion and flow of this vibrant community even more - ENJOY:

Next weekend marks the 4th Annual Green Lifestyle Film Festival, in Los Angeles. Mr. M and I attended the first of these events back in 2007 when I'd just returned from Costa Rica - it was *great* fun and I'd love to be there this year too...it's a loooong way from Ecuador though ;)
This year the festie runs from Friday March 19th to Sunday March 21st and is being held at UCLA's James Bridge Theatre. The festie opens this Friday with a reception featuring top raw chefs, then into the theatre for film trailer previews and Q&A with the film makers. The weekend continues with a packed film schedule indoors, along with live music, live food demos, entertainers on the outdoors stage, lots of prizes and dancing, plus booths to inspire creative choices. This all culminates with a Gala Awards Dinner & Ceremony on Sunday night, the 21st March, in Hollywood - oooooo la la ;) If you'd love to be part of the fun and games next weekend, hop on over HERE and reserve your tickets now :)

Feelings First + Win Free Tickets to Mike Adams' Conference in California :)

A phrase that really resonates for me was dropped into my head a few days ago: "Feelings First". I don't know if this is used often elsewhere or by other people...it really resonated for me when it came though...to honour the importance of feelings in any given situation - that's what comes first - my feelings, your feelings, the feelings of those around us...it doesn't matter how much money is at stake, the potential gains, or how much you might want to do something for some set reason...if the feelings aren't flowing in a way that feels optimal, then maybe another path might be a wiser choice...
For example, let's say that in a couple, one partner really wants to do some certain activity right now, like doing the laundry or washing the car...and the other person is not feeling good, for some reason. In my experience, it is much wiser to address the feelings first...clear the emotional block and then usually things can flow on much more easily from there...whereas if there is a choice instead to try to bypass the feelings and push on with the other activities, whatever they are, the uncleared feelings may stagnate, infest, get more complex and even maybe explode at some other point. The washing can wait - as much as you might want to do it right now, it will still be there in 10 minutes or so and how much lovelier it feels to proceed in an atmosphere of clear, healthy emotional resonance, rather than with the feeling that there is a thorn in the shared emotional bubble...you might think that stopping your intended flow to clear the emotional field is going to 'slow you down' in some way, yet in my experience the opposite is usually true overall - taking the time to clear the air first empowers a much more loving, productive space to unfold from there, with everyone feeling good...so...simply put: "Feelings First" :)

on March the 6th I loved:

    1 quart water
    1 cup reishi/shilajit/ormus tea
3 cups greeeeeen juice with sugarcane juice mixed in
YUMMY dense little meal of avocado blended with basil, lime juice, garlic, cumin, dulse
    1 quart water
more of the blended avocado mush with a little of Mr. M's kale salad, followed be a few macadamias and green raisins - wow ;)

Yesterday was International Women's Day and also saw the start of the epic WISH Summit :) In celebration of all things Goddess, I wrote up a little Si*Star* Appreciation piece in my newsletter - here it is for those of you who don't see my newsletters:

I would love to extend some glowing gratitude to some of the si*stars* out there who have had a deep and profound influence on my life and who are really out there movin' and shakin' in this world... :)
There was a point in my life around 6 or 7 years ago where I felt a really big --g--a--p-- in my reality in terms of having women around me to connect to, feel inspired by, learn from and so on...I mentioned this to the Universe and duly my reality started to be populated with all manner of inspiring Goddesses, I'm delighted to say :)
I want to 'big up' a few of these lovely laydees here...there are of course many more women who have touched my life and continue to do so...some may not be as publicly 'visible' as others though ;) Please enjoy and explore these ten divine Goddess energies (in no particular order):

*Solla...what would life be without a giggling Icelandic raw fairy chef as an accomplice? ;) Solla lives in faith, flow and love perhaps more than anyone else I know - she is love in action...always smiling, kind, sweet, adaptive, with so much compassion and heartspace. She also happens to make truly ext-RAW-dinary raw food... ;) A wonderful role model...

*Kate Magic...aaaaahhhh, sweet little Ms. Magic ;) Another Goddess with a perma-grin, total trust in the Universal flow and a heart filled with rainbows and unicorns ;) Kate likes to put shiny stickers on things, take photos, make outstanding raw food, giggle and DJ. Living with Kate took my life to a WHOLE new level of acceptance and flow... :)

*Shazzie...Shazzle-Dazzle takes the wonderful saying "Well-behaved Women Rarely Make History" to the extreme ;) Shazzie is sequins and stardust, explosions and oversized cucumbers, duriasm and Universal bellows of laughter...she is also a highly savvy business-woman, mother, raw chef, artist and inspired rawquarian ext-raw-dinaire...dynamite ;)

*Jinjee...sweet sister Jinjee has been inspiring me every day for years via the little daily email blasts she sends out. Thoughtful, caring, gentle, open, flowing and creative, this multi-mama, author, artist, musician, visionary sister helps inspire countless people onto a raw path and to open their hearts and lives to so much more, with grace and joy :)

*Veronika Robinson...this wonder-woman has been a recent import into my reality, yet a much-treasured GEM of a role model ;) Veronika runs "The Mother" magazine on conscious parenting and has at least three books out now on this subject - she is a warrioress of the truth, empowering women everywhere to birth and breastfeed naturally...

*Elena Tonetti...another conscious parenting priestess of the light. Elena's DVD "Birth as We Know It" was the most impactful documentary I've ever seen...we attended a sublime workshop with her too...this woman is helping shift the consciousness of this planet, one birth at a time...truly inspiring, profoundly impactful work, shared with so much love :)

*Victoria Boutenko...the modern mama of raw foods was also the main protagonist in my adventure into raw foods - I doubt I'd actually still be alive at this point if it wasn't for Vicki B's books and amazing impact in the world...this is one powerful woman...emanating truth, directness, clarity, sincerity, fun, independence and a huge amount of joy and compassion :)

*Laura Fox...Ms. Foxy is another powerful force movin' and shakin' her way around the raw food world...social connector and visionary extraordinaire, Laura is like the smiling Goddess of entertainment for the raw food family - multimultiuber-talented, funny, detail-orientated, amazing communicator and inspiring co-creator, she dances, glides and flows...

*Anastasia...mmmmmm, dear sweet sister Anasatasia out in the forests of Siberia...surely my all-time biggest inspiration. No books have ever touched me like those describing Anastasia's life and visions for humanity...I connect to her energy daily and give such gratitude for the images and inspirations she brings forward - a dynamic love powerhouse...

*YOU :) ...yes, you. You inspire me, even if we've never met 'in person'...I love that you're out there in the world, spreading love in your own special way...maybe you're a mama, a sister, a grandma, a friend, a lover...you have a unique place in this magical web we're collectively weaving...and if you're a marvellous man reading this, then all kudos to you too, dear prince, for caring about women enough to read about all these radiating Goddess energies...may the ladies in your life feel loved, supported and glowing today and always... :)

With all love to all women and girls everywhere on this special day:
Happy Goddess Rising Day - you are loved :))))

    All love,
    Angelalalaallaaaaaaaaaaa. xxx
