It's that time of year when many people are in gift-seeking mode, myself included ;) I thought it might be fun to give a list of some of the top gift ideas that come to mind for me at this time of year - perhaps this will offer some extra inspiration for some of you out there... ;) Here are ten of my favourite items to give, in no particular order:
screen shot 2010-12-13 at 11.56.35 am.png

6. Hand Analysis Sessions - as some of you know, I am very interested in non-predictive hand reading (think 'lehandanalysis.jpgft-brain/scientific' hand reading, rather than crystal ball gypsies... ;) I would *highly* recommend a life purpose/hand analysis session for loved ones as gifts if you're interested - you might check out RonelleCoburn.com or HandAnalyst.com for Baeth Davis - be aware that both of these ladies are in HIGH demand, so book early if you're keen ;)

water of a young coconut
decadent picnic with Mr. M featuring frozen durian and donut holes from Au Lac - WOW ;)
3 cups water

One reader, Kristina, recently sent me *such* a sweet message about her experiences reading the "Anastasia" book that I asked if I could share her message here - she agreed...so here we go:

"I ordered the Anastasia book from your 32% off special recently (thank you for that financial gift) and began reading it a few days ago. I knew it would affect me because you speak of it so often with such inspiring energy, and it truly is having an affect on me. Not the kind I thought though. I thought I would read it jubilantly and delight in every word. But I find it puts me in quiet contemplation of many things on many levels and it seems almost as if an energetic change is happening on a vibrational level that I won't fully understand for many weeks, months or even years. I find that it makes me more centered in my meditations which is something I have been striving for on my own for a while and not achieved.
Well, I just wanted to share this with you. I will pass the book onto others and hopefully they will get the benefit that I am and we can all share a better connection and experience life in more profound ways.
Many Blessings to You and Matt.
  LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
  Kristina

NICE...I love this ;) Thanks for sharing, Kristina ;) ...and if *you*, dear reader, have also been contemplating reading the Anastasia book(s), maybe now is the time to dive in and start exploring - profound shifts may await you ;) We have the whole series of these remarkable books available HERE...enjoy ;)

    Musical Inspirations :)

:) Last night was FUN - we went to see one of my favourite new bands, Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros, at the Sunset Junction Street Fair in LA. The concert was wonderful :)

We went backstage to meet Alex, the lead singer and to gift the band with our books, raw chocolates and other raw goodies...they seemed excited to receive these offerings and Alex even said that he was a raw foodie for half a year recently ;)
The massive 13-piece band played with a lot of joy and eclectic juiciness, sending balloons and inflatable balls sailing out over the audience from the stage, then bringing a minister onstage and inviting the entire audience to marry each other in a live massive group wedding ceremony ;) Later the whole crowd was welcomed to sit down on the floor along with lead singer Alex as he came down from the stage and sat in the centre of the crowd on the floor...it was a lot of fun ;)
It was also interesting to hear that just two years back, Alex and Jade, the co-founders of the band had been walking around this very festival as 'members of the public'...now here they were two years later headlining on the main stage - lol ;) LOVE it...in case you're not familiar with their work, here is a live version of my favourite song from them, "Home":

on August the 20th I enjoyed:

    1 quart water
    3 cups watermelon/orange juice
    3 cups greeeeeen juice
    1 tbsp spirulina crunchies
feast with Mr. M of fresh figs with almond butter and acai powder
    2 cups water

Mmmmm, I also have a new musical inspiration these last few days...his name is K'Naan and he is a sweet, soulful singer from Somalia who shares such delicate and insightful glimpses into growing up in a country torn by conflicts and beyond...I was introduced to his beautiful music via one reader, Colleen, who pointed me towards his classic "Tiny Desk" performance at NPR Music - check it out below...Apparently his song 'Wavin' Flag' was used as the theme to the World Cup recently, so perhaps you're familiar with his music from that...he also is apparently usually a hip-hop/rap artist, however this acoustic "Tiny Desk" performance is not presented in that way at all...I am especially in *love* with the bitter-sweet tribute song "Fatima" in the middle of this set - wow, there is such light in this man:

On the subject of the "Tiny Desk Concerts", there is such a *wealth* of talent and inspiration to explore in those YouTube videos - wow...if you haven't seen any of them, a tradition has been formed of various amazing artists cramming themselves and their bands into the tiny desk space of one of the workers at NPR Music...incredible live acoustic sets tend to result...here are three of my personal favourites (you can click through them all in the "Tiny Desk" section on the right of the NPR Music page on YouTube, HERE):

    ENJOY :)

on August the 21st I loved:

2 tbsp bee pollen, 2 tbsp spirulina crunchies
    2 cups greeeeeen juice
nori rolls stuffed with Sea Clear, avocado, cucumber, sprouts and sauerkraut, followed by 3 tbsp acai powder and sample of the spirulina 'cookies' from GoRaw
    2 cups water

on August the 22nd I appreciated:

    1 quart water
    3 cups greeeeeeen juice
samples of stone fruits at farmers' market, followed by meal of fresh fruit salad with a little almond butter
samples of crunchy seed snacks - yummy :)
    2 cups water
    2 cups greeeeeen juice
handful of cherries and a juicy peach, amazing acai smoooothie :)

    Community Living in Vilcabamba...

Ooooo lalaaaa, we have pretty exciting visions forming for raw community here in Vilcabamba, Ecuador...you wanna come live here too? We just made an announcement in our newsletters about possibilities for co-creating kins' domains here...and the response has been HUUUGE already - if you didn't see this already, read on for the Monarch summary of opening possibilities:

    -------------

As many of you already know, Angela and I are choosing Vilcabamba, Ecuador as our place of residence. We've looked around the Vilcabamba valley and we feel that we are living in the most prime and beautiful location here. There are currently eight or so owners in the community where we live, who either eat totally raw or seem to be following a healthy lifestyle. Additionally, as one result of the growing raw foods community here, some of our other neighbors seem to also be more interested in the raw foods lifestyle.

Angela and I are in the process of co-creating a project to help bring even more like-minded individuals to our community here (the Hacienda San Joaquin Ranch). In addition to the property where we live, we currently also have a beautiful 2.5 acre piece of land bordering the Vilcabamba river. This land is just feet away from the property where we live. We intend to build three structures on this river-side land - dwelling places for three or more like-minded families who would love to coexist together, alongside us :-). We don't plan on making a single dime of profit on this project; the primary intention is to bring in more like-minded people.

The three structures that we plan on building are:

    1. 750 Square Feet House (2 Bedroom, 1 Bath)
    2. 750 Square Feet House (2 Bedroom, 1 Bath)
    3. 1500 Square Feet House (3 Bedroom, 2 Bath)

Each house will have its own kitchen and living area. Below are the current estimated prices for each structure, which also includes the land they will reside on. If more than one family wants to live in one of these homes, the cost could obviously be split amongst those involved. We are even willing to do payment plans to get you down here :-) Additionally, we'll do all that we can to assist you with getting settled here :-)

    1. 750 Square Feet House (2 Bedroom, 1 Bath)
$81,250 or $40,625 each, shared between two
    2. 750 Square Feet House (2 Bedroom, 1 Bath)
$81,250 or $40,625 each, shared between two
    3. 1500 Square Feet House (3 Bedroom, 2 Bath)
$162,500 or $54,200 each, shared between three

Those who purchase these structures will own the houses and the shared land, free and clear in their names. We intend to start building these structures within the next few months. We wanted to announce this project now, because if anyone is seriously interested in getting involved, we can work with you to transform the plans and better fit your needs. For example, if a like-minded family is interested in the entire land to build their own structure(s) on it, we would be completely happy with that, or if two families know they would love to share the space, yet in a different way than what we have foreseen, we can work with that too. Again, the primary purpose of this project is to help bring in more like-minded people to our community and we are open to how that may unfold. Check out the video below as we discuss this plan and unique opportunity on this piece of land.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHfK34ojdbc

    screen shot 2010-05-24 at 7.52.20 pm.png

Once this project is complete and the land in question is home to like-minded people, we may be open to buying up more nearby land here, to co-create more kins' domains. The purpose of buying up more land would again be to help bring even more like-minded people to join us... :-)

If you are sincerely interested in getting involved in this project, please contact Angela and I at angela@rawreform.comThis e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .

We feel that this is THE most ideal place for us to live on the ENTIRE planet! Once you have your land/structure/gardens in place here, you are pretty much set for life! The cost of living and food prices are extremely inexpensive here. For example, one HUGE avocado costs .30 cents. A GIGANTIC mango costs .20 cents. An entire 3-foot LARGE bushel of chlorophyll-rich alfalfa costs about .40 cents. Practically everything grows here and the climate is like spring all year round. Angela and I have been here for three months and we're already completely self-sufficient in greens from our land and garden. You can seriously just live off the wild edibles here, in green juices and smoothies. The air, soil and water quality here in the Andes are unparalleled and just by living here you will most likely add 10 years to your lifespan, release excess weight, reverse conditions of disease, sleep better and detox. We look forward to playing in "paradise" with you if you'd love to join us here...!
    -------------

    Let's co-create this magnificent vision... :)

On May the 24th I was delighted with:

Mmmmmm, one raw yumster, Megumi, who joined us here in Vilcabamba for the recent Raw Food Gathering just posted a *lovely* collection of photos from her time here, which you can see HERE - some very beautiful pics and funny captions too:

One of my favourite aspects of this recent raw gathering, which I didn't mention yet, was that at least THREE new couples formed out of the mixture of people who came to visit ;O *LOVE* it :)))
This reminds me of the energy of the gatherings mentioned in the "Anastasia"/Ringing Cedars books, when Anastasia mentions community gatherings where people are commonly looking to connect with others, find a partner and so on, all the while enjoying fun community-connecting-events together ;) I'm so thrilled to think that this little gathering we just held here was flowing with even a little of that kind of energy - how beautiful :)))

Dear brother LoveSky Dancer in Glastonbury, England, would love to let y'all know that the world-renowned Maori Healers from Aotearoa/NZ are going to be holding sessions in the UK soon, for anyone who'd love to go along and experience their profoundly healing body work...these are the same Maori Healers who were sharing this amazing energy work at the Longevity Conference with Wolfie a few months ago - now they're on the way to Europe for a few months...

They will be sharing their wonders in Glastonbury from June 1st to the 10th: body work sessions will be available daily from June 1st-10th, then there will also be a workshop on Maori Healing Arts on June 5th-6th. For more info you can connect with Catherine on indigocath (at) mac.com...you can also check the www.maorihealers.com site - I don't think they have much European tour info up there yet though...there are more events in the UK and elsewhere too I believe...

    ENJOY :)))

Three Books to Shape a Life...

Mmmm, a few days ago here in Vilcabamba, a lovely visitor from France, Diane Baran, shared a Non-Violent Communication (NVC) workshop with us all at the Vilcabamba Raw Food Gathering...it re-awakened in me a love for the profound NVC book and work... NVC was one of the first healing tools that opened big doorways on my personal journey, helping me to express my desires and feelings clearly and listen with compassion...if you've read my book "Raw Emotions", you may remember me mentioning NVC in there...well, today I felt inspired to share a quick little list with you of three books that have all helped create significant shifts in *my* life and might be interesting for you to explore too, or perhaps share with loved ones...

Non-Violent Communication (NVC) by Marshall Rosenburg
This outstanding book opened huge doorways into my heart. Rosenburg outlines a simply wonderful technique for communicating with others from a place of honesty, integrity, responsibility and compassion. Training in NVC can be accessed worldwide.

    Anastasia by Vladimir Megré
The ‘Ringing Cedars of Russia’ series of books have affected me more than any others in recent years. Megré’s real-life accounts of his meetings with Siberian forest-dweller Anastasia are simply spellbinding for me. I find the richness of Anastasia’s connection with the whole web of life incredibly inspiring. To me, she represents a modern-day powerhouse of truth, light, integrity and beauty.

    Raw Family by The Boutenkos
This is the simple little book I read in May 2002 that kick-started my raw journey. It’s a very inspirational, quick read that offers the Boutenko family’s testimony of how their lives completely shifted after going raw. As their illnesses receded, they set off walking the Pacific Coast Trail, from Mexico to Canada, with many adventures along the way. They’ve since inspired countless thousands into improved health. A wonderfully uplifting book.

I *love* all three of these books so much that I asked the Monarch if we can do a special package deal on all three of them for this newsletter...he agreed that this would be a fabulous gift pack to share, so we are now offering discounted packs containing one of each of these three inspiring books, for just $35, rather than $42.85 if purchased separately. We also made another special pack of these three books PLUS my book "Raw Emotions" - you can get all four of those for $58 instead of $72.80.

    Happy Mamma Earth Day :)

Mmmmmm, so it's the 40th anniversary of "Earth Day" today...how will *you* be celebrating your love of Mamma Earth...? I'll be getting out into our garden planting up lots more lovely veggie seeds... (the leguminous plants are already coming up and so far I've also planted melons, cucumbers, red peppers, tomatoes, nettles, spinach, tatsoi, dill, parsley, fennel, komatsuna, kale, borage, carrots, cabbage, celery root, endive, beetroot, lavender, cornsalad, green purslane and two kinds of salad leaf mixtures - VERY excited :))))
I was reflecting this morning on what I would do if I had access at this point of the game to limitless amounts of money - what would I do with that flow to best aid our planet...? The answer that comes for me is that I would use that money flow to buy up huge tracts of land, then give hectare parcels of land to whoever would *love* to be on that land, growing food, connecting to the Earth, co-creating eco-friendly dwellings and so on...just as outlined in the Anastasia books...this feels to me like it would be *such* a beneficial use of money energy at this juncture - to translate money into land energy, hand stewardship of that land over to those who would *LOVE* to be there and...see how we collectively flourish from there... I am willing to hold energy into that vision and certainly welcome anyone else to join me who sees the value of this possibility too... :))) Here's to Mamma Earth and all who love her :))))

Recently some of the members of that list began holding weekly telephone meetings together on Fridays and they would love to invite any of you who feel drawn, to participate too. The calls are on Fridays at 12 noon Eastern time, 9am Pacific time and there is no cost to participate, other than any standard call charges you may incur.
