(Easter weekend in Catholic country = no-one at work in internet company, apparently ;)
Right now we are gratefully connected online for a short time via a friend's generous line-sharing...and we *hope* to be back online again as usual by tomorrow...whereupon we can hopefully reschedule the call with the gracious Nadine ;)
The first 15 minutes of call time that we were able to enjoy together were GREAT, so here's looking forward to the next installment...you can sign up for access at http://www.TheRawFoodWorldRadioShow.com if you're not already signed up for call info for this interview...

Also, remember that the RawReform Giveaway Contest prize this month is a gift pack of gorgeous skin care goodies from Nadine too - see HERE for more info...

Wishing all of you whom enjoy this holiday a very Happy Easter :)

At a retreat I was holding once, a wise woman once shared this idea with the group:

"I like to make sure I give the best of myself to my loved ones, not other people."

This struck me as simple, golden guidance. How often it seems that people reserve the apparent "best" of themselves for maintaining a public show that "all is well", while behaving in other-than-radiant ways with their families, close friends or house mates...whether that means complaining, arguing, gossiping or shouting at our supposed "nearest and dearest", or whatever this behaviour manifests as...what a refreshing idea to consciously choose to keep our best for those whom we believe that we love and cherish the most...makes sense, non...?
Of course, it would be the loveliest intention methinks to treat everyone with a gentle, open heart, compassion, understanding and joy...however, if we do not yet, for whatever reason, feel able or willing to hold that kind of space with everyone we encounter, we could at least choose to treat our closest associates with loving appreciation and compassion. What a turn around this could bring, if people everywhere chose to act on this idea...
I am reminded of another sage piece of guidance shared with me along this theme when I was in the grip some years back of a particularly co-dependent, abusive relationship...an older woman pointed out to me that the guy in this relationship was CHOOSING to speak to me in unsupportive, violent and unkind ways - he would not, for example, choose to scream or shout in rage at someone he briefly encountered, like someone trying to help him locate an item in a supermarket, or someone who had just delivered him mail...yet he would choose to speak to me, the person supposedly nearest and dearest to him, in harsh tones and with violent outbursts - a bizarre state of events when viewed from the outside, yet one that seems remarkably common from my observances of modern, strained human relationships...may we all remember to do our best to share our radiant selves with others, especially those whom we claim to love the most... ;)

All love and explorations of joy,

Little Grandmother Speaks...

In my latest newsletter, I wrote about a simply wonderful woman named "Little Grandmother", whose message I have been riveted to for the past few days. In case you didn't see my newsletter, here is the info on this extraordinary woman's sharing:

Little Grandmother

Kiesha Crowther is a Native American shaman/'wisdom-keeper' and I absolutely LOVE the message she is sharing with the world. In the last week, I suddenly started receiving emails about "Little Grandmother", as Kiesha is known...one email followed another until I felt inspired to click a link and check out what this 'grannie' is sharing...well, as it turns out, screen shot 2010-06-07 at 11.18.40 am.pngKiesha is the self-described 'youngest, blondest, whitest Grandmother' you'll see...and her story, spirit and message are absolutely BEAUTIFUL to me... I have been attentively absorbing all her sharing with fascination and delight since then...
Kiesha speaks with such delightful clarity, compassion, grace and POSITIVITY about the big shifts that are in flow in our world right now... I resonate so much with her message that I wanted to share a couple of links here so y'all can check out what she is bringing forth too - LOVE this si*star* :)))

You can watch a whole speech by Little Grandmother filmed a few months back in NM, presented in ten parts on YouTube - see here for the start: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yK5OOfEmut4

You can also see Kiesha in a live interview HERE - great info on her background and her perspective on the Earth shifts that seem to be lining up...

Community Living in Vilcabamba...

Ooooo lalaaaa, we have pretty exciting visions forming for raw community here in Vilcabamba, Ecuador...you wanna come live here too? We just made an announcement in our newsletters about possibilities for co-creating kins' domains here...and the response has been HUUUGE already - if you didn't see this already, read on for the Monarch summary of opening possibilities:

-------------

As many of you already know, Angela and I are choosing Vilcabamba, Ecuador as our place of residence. We've looked around the Vilcabamba valley and we feel that we are living in the most prime and beautiful location here. There are currently eight or so owners in the community where we live, who either eat totally raw or seem to be following a healthy lifestyle. Additionally, as one result of the growing raw foods community here, some of our other neighbors seem to also be more interested in the raw foods lifestyle.

Angela and I are in the process of co-creating a project to help bring even more like-minded individuals to our community here (the Hacienda San Joaquin Ranch). In addition to the property where we live, we currently also have a beautiful 2.5 acre piece of land bordering the Vilcabamba river. This land is just feet away from the property where we live. We intend to build three structures on this river-side land - dwelling places for three or more like-minded families who would love to coexist together, alongside us :-). We don't plan on making a single dime of profit on this project; the primary intention is to bring in more like-minded people.

The three structures that we plan on building are:

1. 750 Square Feet House (2 Bedroom, 1 Bath)
2. 750 Square Feet House (2 Bedroom, 1 Bath)
3. 1500 Square Feet House (3 Bedroom, 2 Bath)

Each house will have its own kitchen and living area. Below are the current estimated prices for each structure, which also includes the land they will reside on. If more than one family wants to live in one of these homes, the cost could obviously be split amongst those involved. We are even willing to do payment plans to get you down here :-) Additionally, we'll do all that we can to assist you with getting settled here :-)

1. 750 Square Feet House (2 Bedroom, 1 Bath)
$81,250 or $40,625 each, shared between two
2. 750 Square Feet House (2 Bedroom, 1 Bath)
$81,250 or $40,625 each, shared between two
3. 1500 Square Feet House (3 Bedroom, 2 Bath)
$162,500 or $54,200 each, shared between three

Those who purchase these structures will own the houses and the shared land, free and clear in their names. We intend to start building these structures within the next few months. We wanted to announce this project now, because if anyone is seriously interested in getting involved, we can work with you to transform the plans and better fit your needs. For example, if a like-minded family is interested in the entire land to build their own structure(s) on it, we would be completely happy with that, or if two families know they would love to share the space, yet in a different way than what we have foreseen, we can work with that too. Again, the primary purpose of this project is to help bring in more like-minded people to our community and we are open to how that may unfold. Check out the video below as we discuss this plan and unique opportunity on this piece of land.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHfK34ojdbc

screen shot 2010-05-24 at 7.52.20 pm.png

Once this project is complete and the land in question is home to like-minded people, we may be open to buying up more nearby land here, to co-create more kins' domains. The purpose of buying up more land would again be to help bring even more like-minded people to join us... :-)

If you are sincerely interested in getting involved in this project, please contact Angela and I at angela@rawreform.comThis e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .

We feel that this is THE most ideal place for us to live on the ENTIRE planet! Once you have your land/structure/gardens in place here, you are pretty much set for life! The cost of living and food prices are extremely inexpensive here. For example, one HUGE avocado costs .30 cents. A GIGANTIC mango costs .20 cents. An entire 3-foot LARGE bushel of chlorophyll-rich alfalfa costs about .40 cents. Practically everything grows here and the climate is like spring all year round. Angela and I have been here for three months and we're already completely self-sufficient in greens from our land and garden. You can seriously just live off the wild edibles here, in green juices and smoothies. The air, soil and water quality here in the Andes are unparalleled and just by living here you will most likely add 10 years to your lifespan, release excess weight, reverse conditions of disease, sleep better and detox. We look forward to playing in "paradise" with you if you'd love to join us here...!
-------------

Let's co-create this magnificent vision... :)

Mmmmmm, one raw yumster, Megumi, who joined us here in Vilcabamba for the recent Raw Food Gathering just posted a *lovely* collection of photos from her time here, which you can see HERE - some very beautiful pics and funny captions too:

One of my favourite aspects of this recent raw gathering, which I didn't mention yet, was that at least THREE new couples formed out of the mixture of people who came to visit ;O *LOVE* it :)))
This reminds me of the energy of the gatherings mentioned in the "Anastasia"/Ringing Cedars books, when Anastasia mentions community gatherings where people are commonly looking to connect with others, find a partner and so on, all the while enjoying fun community-connecting-events together ;) I'm so thrilled to think that this little gathering we just held here was flowing with even a little of that kind of energy - how beautiful :)))

on May the 25th it was a juicy day and I loved:

1 quart water
3 cups watermelon juice
2 tbsp bee pollen
1 cup watermelon juice

Thank You, I Love You, Please Forgive Me, I'm Sorry...

I want to express today how much I love the energy of the Ho'oponopono 'mantra/prayer/blessing': Thank You, I Love You, Please Forgive Me, I'm Sorry. If you're not familiar with this healing process, here is smthg I wrote about it in "Raw Emotions":

Thank You, I Love You, Please Forgive Me, I Am Sorry
One of my favourite ways to dissipate awkward energies and painful emotions is to share these four blessings: thank you, I love you, please forgive me, I am sorry. You may recognise this as the Hawaiian healing process of ‘Ho’oponopono’, which is based on loving yourself and accepting responsibility for all that is within your reality. There is a wonderful story that accompanies this prayer. One ward for the ‘criminally insane’ in the State Hospital in Hawaii was home to those patients who had been declared more or less ‘untreatable’. A healer went to work there. He never met with any of the patients. He simply went and sat in an office and read over their medical files. As he read, he felt loving compassion and blessed each of them repeatedly with the healing prayer: ‘thank you, I love you, please forgive me, I am sorry.’ The transformation in the patients was remarkable. Their conditions shifted to such a degree that in the end, the hospital ward actually closed, as there was no longer any need for it…WOW! I love that story - for me it totally conveys the message of the power of our thoughts. So, next time you feel anger, disappointment, jealousy or resentment towards others, perhaps try saying this prayer - either out loud or internally - and watch the energy transform… You can find out more about this simple healing technique at http://www.ancienthuna.com.

Thank YOU. I Love YOU. Please Forgive Me. I'm Sorry. :)

on May the 11th I enjoyed:

1 quart water
2 cups greeeeeeen juice mixed with sugarcane juice
mug of herbal tea
an avocaco mashed together in a bowl with sauerkraut and dulse seaweed, with spirulina coconut chews, followed by a dried banana
2 cups water
1 tbsp bee pollen, a yummy papaya
2 cups water
big slice of pineapple
mug of Natural Calm

on May the 12th it was a travelling day for us and I loved:

1 quart water
water of a young coconut
2 tbsp bee pollen
bowl of fresh fruit (granadillas, papaya, rambutan) with chia seed gel and coconut jelly-meat

2 cups carrot/orange juice (...??? odd S. American juice combo that's actually quite nice ;)
an orange-coloured fruit fest in the car: dragon fruit, granadillas, mandarin
mug of reishi/shilajit/ormus tea

On the subject of "Raw Emotions", a sweet email came in yesterday from someone who had just finished reading the book:

" Just wanted to say I really enjoyed your book. I felt your calming influence radiate from the pages. You gave me a model of what life could be like - what it would be like to be at peace. So thank you for your kind words and honesty, I read your book at a shakey time and it helped me a great deal.

All the best wishes,
Rebecca x"

Today was 'officially' the last day of the 2010 Vilcabamba Raw Food Gathering...what an experience this has been, these last two weeks ;O
It seems there were around 120 or so 'raw' visitors here in the last couple of weeks and today we closed this phase of the gathering with a wonderful 'closing circle' :) We have shared many adventures and delights together in the last days: zip-lining, hikes, horse-rides, farm tours, talks, singing circles, massages, spa treatments, movie nights, potlucks, parties, meditations, work/playshops, yoga classes, healing sessions...what a blessing :) ...and there seem to be emerging intentions to play the game again next year too...more details to come... ;)
For now, there are many pictures on Facebook and the Raw Gathering Ning Community to peruse, plus I posted a set of pics on Flickr HERE and Mr. M has been posting videos regularly from here over at www.TheRawFoodWorld.tv - enjoy :)

Maybe we'll see y'all down here next year for more fun and adventures... ;)

All love,

Three Books to Shape a Life...

Mmmm, a few days ago here in Vilcabamba, a lovely visitor from France, Diane Baran, shared a Non-Violent Communication (NVC) workshop with us all at the Vilcabamba Raw Food Gathering...it re-awakened in me a love for the profound NVC book and work... NVC was one of the first healing tools that opened big doorways on my personal journey, helping me to express my desires and feelings clearly and listen with compassion...if you've read my book "Raw Emotions", you may remember me mentioning NVC in there...well, today I felt inspired to share a quick little list with you of three books that have all helped create significant shifts in *my* life and might be interesting for you to explore too, or perhaps share with loved ones...

Non-Violent Communication (NVC) by Marshall Rosenburg
This outstanding book opened huge doorways into my heart. Rosenburg outlines a simply wonderful technique for communicating with others from a place of honesty, integrity, responsibility and compassion. Training in NVC can be accessed worldwide.

Anastasia by Vladimir Megré
The ‘Ringing Cedars of Russia’ series of books have affected me more than any others in recent years. Megré’s real-life accounts of his meetings with Siberian forest-dweller Anastasia are simply spellbinding for me. I find the richness of Anastasia’s connection with the whole web of life incredibly inspiring. To me, she represents a modern-day powerhouse of truth, light, integrity and beauty.

Raw Family by The Boutenkos
This is the simple little book I read in May 2002 that kick-started my raw journey. It’s a very inspirational, quick read that offers the Boutenko family’s testimony of how their lives completely shifted after going raw. As their illnesses receded, they set off walking the Pacific Coast Trail, from Mexico to Canada, with many adventures along the way. They’ve since inspired countless thousands into improved health. A wonderfully uplifting book.

I *love* all three of these books so much that I asked the Monarch if we can do a special package deal on all three of them for this newsletter...he agreed that this would be a fabulous gift pack to share, so we are now offering discounted packs containing one of each of these three inspiring books, for just $35, rather than $42.85 if purchased separately. We also made another special pack of these three books PLUS my book "Raw Emotions" - you can get all four of those for $58 instead of $72.80.

"Today let me keep going until the going gets good."

Mmmmm, may we all realise the power we have inside of us to keep going and to lovingly co-create situations that feel enriching, or at least comfortable, whatever seems to be occuring around us...

WIN the "Supercharge Me" DVD :)

WOW - yesterday was the third day of the 2010 Raw Food Gathering here in Vilcabamba, Ecuador and we've had an action-packed, delightful celebration together so far... :) We opened the festival last Saturday afternoon at the Sambuca Yoga Studio with a lovely intention circle, chanting and ecstatic dance, followed by the *fabulous* opening party of the new raw-friendly Papayas Cafe in Vilcabamba town...my cheeks *ached* from the perma-grin that day, as we met all the raw foodies starting to flow into town and also witnessed with such joy the merging of locals, raw foodies, new transplants and more, all mingling together in this gorgeous new space and enjoying outstanding raw desserts and drinks - WOW :)
I just posted some photos to Flickr of the first couple of days of the gathering - see HERE.
