Gettin' Juicy with The Global Juice Feast 2009 :)

In case it somehow passed you by, this year’s Global Juice Feast is now in session :) It started last Saturday, the 7th and runs for the next 92–days orrrrr...for as long as you like ;) The beauty of the GJF is that you can participate as little or as much as you like – do a full 92–day juicy session like I did back in 2006–2007, or do one day a week for the Feasting season, or do a 3–day stint, or 47 days – whatever works for YOU ;)
If you’ve never checked out the GlobalJuiceFeast.com community site, that might be a yummy place for you to check into as well – it’s a free 'Ning' community full of juicy beings worldwide...
Here’s a very cool little juicy story one reader sent recently:

“I started a juice feast yesterday, and Boy was it so much fun too. I had so much Energy too. I Was cleaning my whole kitchen, took out the garbage, did some Laundry and then when out and watered my gardens, all 12 of them. Then I came in and got on my Treadmill for 70 mins. I had a total of 5 Quarts of juice. I never Felt Hungry. My body was getting what it needed, so there were no cravings for any kind of food. Now I am on day 2 and drinking my first Quart of juice. Oh and I lost 6 more Pounds too. WoW!!! How about that for a neat thing.”
Doug

I LOVE this little heart–felt testimonial – it totally illustrates the ENERGY and passion that so many people seem to feel while JF–ing...love it :)
You can check out the JuiceFeasting.com HQ HERE and my book on this subject – ‘A Juice Feaster’s Handbook’ HERE.

Manna also have an ext–RAW–dinary looking raw chocolate superhero party coming up this Saturday with a rumba/samurai theme... ;) lol... The action starts at 7pm and there will be live music from duet Shrinari, plus all kinds of chocolate treats, elixirs and delights to devour ;)

(Personally, if I was in California this weekend, methinks I would head along to either the fabulous–looking ‘2012 Quantum Leap’ event that Ms. Laura Fox is involved with, HERE or the lovely Green Lifestyle Film Festival in LA, which you can see more about HERE – please do let us know your experiences at these events if you’re attending... ;)

Validating Your Divine Self... ;)

OOooOooooo, ladies and gentlemen, it’s that time again...raw food, detox and fitness plans seem to be kicking off all over the shot right now...there are many many different plans to follow – maybe you’d like to RawFu away any Holiday excesses with the lovely Bunny Berry's assistance, for example?

Or maybe you’ll be a Raw Diva with their new 7-day plan?

Jinjee and Storm have years of experience to share of course too, on a different 7-day plan HERE...

...or if you REALLY wanna go for it, then the first Global Juice Feast of this year just kicked off yesterday (Jan 3rd) and will run until Jan 31st. You can flow into that yumminess with the beautylicious Rainosheks HERE.
I'm sure there's plenty of other yummy detox plans kicking off too - maybe even some in your local area...???

Now, as for EXERCISE, as many people know, those lovely Boutenkos did a huge trek along the Pacific Coast Trail when they first went raw...if you’d like to follow a little in their footsteps (virtually at least ;) HERE is a cool site that was sent in by one reader - Steve - where you can ‘walk the Oregon Coast’ virtually ;) lol – love it...you keep track of your biking/walking/exercising in your local area, then record it on the site, making simultaneous ‘virtual’ progress along the Oregon Coast track – nice motivational tool...you can also go on a walking tour of Italy on the same site if you prefer... You just enter the promo code ‘InStep2008’ to join in for free, apparently...
ENJOY :)

on January the 2nd I had:

4 quarts water
1 apple

on January the 3rd I had:

2 quarts water
mug of pau d’arco tea
40 chlorella ‘nuts’
double wheatgrass shot with ginger and lime juice
an apple with 3 tbsp Sproutein powder
1 quart water
1.5 cups energy soup with a flax cracker, followed by 2 tbsp goji berry powder
little mug of rooibus tea
2 cups water

Hmmmm, so, as for me, I haven’t been eating much the last few days, as you might have noticed. No, this is no intentional ‘detox’ plan... ;) The journey back from Mexico was simply pretty INTENSE – over 28 hours in transit in the end...and I seem to find that my appetite goes away after journeys like that...I sense it’s a combination of jet–lag, out–of–bodyness, sleep deprivation, messed up circadian rhythms, feeling puffed–up from planes, body wanting a break from digestion so that it can heal as fast as possible and so on...well, the result is: no interest in food, or at least very minimal…which is fine – interesting to observe...and I‘m grateful to feel more–or–less back in this body now, slowly grounding back down with some more foods, especially some healthy fats as it’s COLD here in the UK – eeeeeeeeeeek...who turned the heaters off while I was away...? lol ;)

on January the 4th I had:

1 quart water
little cup of rooibus tea
3 cups grrreeeeen juice: celery, cucumber, fennel, Jerusalem artichoke, ginger, lime
1.5 cups energy soup with flax crackers, followed by a little rammikin dish of hand–blended yum: carob powder, lucuma powder, cinnamon, maca, gojis, water
3 cups water
30 chlorella tabs
gorgeous little bowl of grawnola with carob/lucuma/macadamia nut ‘mylk’ – WOW :)
little mug of rooibus tea
2 cups water

Mmmmmmm, I wanted to share a really sweet short film with you today that was sent in by another reader – Shane. It’s called ‘Validation’, is abt 16 mins long, very heart–warming and has won a whole mantelpiece of awards already ;). You can watch it HERE:

SMILE :)

Delicious Co-Creation...

OOooOOOoooo, yumminess...we went to a meeting about Anastasia today :))) It was arranged by a woman in this area who has been reading and loving the ‘Ringing Cedars’ series of books, just like we and many millions of other people have :) She decided to create a space for those who are interested to gather together and share the impact these books are having on all our lives...I found it fascinating to hear what other people get out of these books – the different perspectives, the different things that stand out for people...for me, as I think I’ve made clear by now, these books represent pure truth and love – I just LOVE reading them and the visions they create and awaken within me...and I see the main message I take from them as the importance now for us all to get growing food – get to the land, get connected, enjoy the intimacy with nature and the ecstatic dance with freedom, no longer wrapped into a self-destructive, ailing system...We’re reading Book 6: The Book of Kin at the moment and it’s just soooo delicious...one of the bits that tickled my fascination nodules the most so far was some comment along the lines that humans get bored living in the buildings they do because THEY DO NOT CHANGE – they stay the same, more or less, year in, year out – you might move a piece of furniture here, hang up some other curtains there or smthg...yet it’s fundamentally the same – it doesn’t breathe, shift, grow or really interact...compare that to living outside all the time – think how different that would be – your landscape and environment would be constantly shifting, there would be endless new fascination to explore...I found this very interesting – I think it was introduced in the context of people getting bored in their marriages too, if I’m recalling accurately – same house, day in, day out, same people, same interactions, stagnating...hmmmmmmmmmmm...interesting stuff...this all led me to reflect on my own restless, nomadic behaviour so far in life, moving from place to place so often – I began to ponder if perhaps this has been driven in part by a desire to keep the landscape moving, yet without enough familiarity/will to choose living outside as my solution – so I’ve kept on moving houses/areas instead...there is definitely something in me that still jars against the reality of living outside...though we do sleep with huge windows completely open, so it’s pretty much like sleeping outside in THAT sense...well, we’ll see how it unfolds from here... ;)
If you want to dive into the Anastasia collection, you can see them HERE...

On March the 31st I had a juicy day of:

1.5 quarts water
36oz watermelon/mandarin juice
36oz lettuce/pak choi/dandelion/carrot/zucchini juice
2 cups water
40oz watermelon/orange juice
1 tbsp green powder
3 cups beetroot/apple/cabbage juice
1tbsp wheatgrass powder
3.5 cups apple/lettuce/cucumber/garlic/hot pepper juice
3 cups water

SOooOooooOoo...this was my FIFTH juicy Monday in a row, playing along on the skirts of the Global Juice Feast...which must mean those of you in full juicy mode have been at this for...wow, more than a month now, if you started on March the 1st...I hope you’re all having a wondrous time with it. I’m enjoying my weekly check-ins to juicy world...I might even keep it up after the GJF wraps us this time round...we’ll see...it just feels like a really nice break to me each week – I barely even notice it anymore as an ‘event’ in fact, which is interesting to me when I think back; if you’d asked me to spend a day on JUST juices 6 or 7 years ago, I would have most likely FREAKED OUT and thought I’d never make it through the day – these days, in contrast, it seems like a nice BREAK ;) LOL...how our perspectives can change...

on April the 1st I had:

1.5 quarts water
3 cups watermelon/orange juice
1tbsp wheatgrass powder
2 handfuls of fresh figs, from the trees here
2 cups water
8oz cucumber/lettuce/sprouts/carrot/cabbage juice
16oz carrot/spinach juice
bowl of cucumber yum: grated cucumber mushed with sunflower seed pate, avocado, finely diced onion, karengo seaweed, mixed sprouts, served in lettuce leaves
2 cups water
½ watermelon
2 cups water

on April the 2nd I had:

1.5 quarts water
1 quart watermelon/orange juice
1 pint zucchini/spinach/pak choi/cabbage/carrot juice
2 cups water
little bowl of Monarch Mulberry Magic – he’s at it again, that Monarch has created a magical greeeeeeen treat using just dried mulberries blended with ground almonds and spirulina powder - yummmmmmmmmmmm
3 cups water
3 cups zucchini/spinach/pak choi/cabbage/carrot juice
bowl of figgy pudding: fresh figs blended with fresh tangelos, stirred with yacon/lucuma/vanilla/cinnamon/spirulina powders
3 cups water

I would love to ‘big up’ Think Arete again today...I know I’ve mentioned this site before – I’ve just been loving the daily messages so much from them though, I wanted to recommend checking it out again. If you haven’t been there yet, basically the idea is that Brian Johnson (the guy who created Zaadz – which is now the beautiful Gaia Community) is collating together all his favourite nuggets of truth, beauty, ‘wisdom’ and so on from all that he has read and heard over the years from self-help resources to ‘spiritual’ books, wellness seminars and so on. It’s great fun :) Every day he emails out a short ‘big idea’ mail shot, if you sign up for it (free) – this might be anything from relationship guidance to an inspiring quote, to a simple idea that could revolutionise the way you create YOUR reality ;). The by-line of the site is ‘concentrated wisdom for the busy self-actualizer’ – love it...and that’s exactly what you get – no fluff, no hype, just short, simple, useful, positive, funny nuggets every day to boost your yumminess vibe ;) You can check the site out and sign up for your daily hit of yum HERE: http://www.thinkarete.com

ENJOY :)

Ooo, check out this new Google Vid of myself and the dear Rainosheks having a JUICY chat a few days ago, on my second Juicy Monday and their 9th day of the Global Juice Feast. We had a little pow-wow on Skype for the first half of this video, talking about juicy adventures, ‘Raw Emotions’ and more - check out Katrina’s lovely thoughts about the obstruction to energetic flow that solid foods create in the system, before they’re assimilated into the body – love it ;) See HERE:

Talking of events, I just realised I haven’t bigged up the Raw Lifestyle Film Festival here yet – and it’s just days away now – eeeeek. Well, I’m sure many of you have heard anyway about this yummy event kicking off from March the 21st to the 23rd in LA.
It’s the second year for the festie this year, which started as a simple little idea from dear Jinjee to get some people together and show some raw-related flicks, to being a HUGE, action-packed, internationally attended event in Hollywood ;) LOL... It was muchos fun last year – I’d just got back from Costa Rica and the Monarch and myself attended the whole film festival; we met many fabulous beings, absorbed many hours of incredible footage and sampled some delicious treats. My favourite film last year was, as I’ve said before, ‘Birth As We Know It’ – absolutely PHENOMENAL...essential viewing for any pregnant women or those intending to parent, methinks...
This year the line-up looks GLOWING too – you can see info abt the festie HERE, including a key-note speech from world-renowned transformational worker, LOUISE L. HAY - WOW :). Other presenters will include Viktoras Kulvinskas, Victoria Boutenko, Matt Amsden, Happy Oasis, Patricia Bragg, the Rainosheks, Cherie Soria and many more...
I’m especially excited to see Valya Boutenko’s offering, 'Reversing the Irreversible' - she apparently interviewed 37 different people who have all healed various ailments and diseases by going raw – YUMMY :)
I would, as ever, LOVE to be there to play out with all the shiny creative yumsters – we’re quite a trot from LA at the moment though...so, next year for us ;) In the meantime, ENJOY if YOU are going to play out at the festie – and do let us know what you enjoyed if you do attend... ;) Discounted tickets for the event are only available until MARCH 15th - so get in soon, before the prices go up - PLUS, please note that one tree is planted for every ticket purchased - tres cool ;)

All love,

Sharing Worldwide :)

Well, back on the Juices for me yesterday :) How are YOUR juices flowing? Are you in a liquid landscape at the moment? I hope you’re enjoying the swelling flow of the Global Juice Feast...I had a good Juicy Monday...as I wrote in my last post, I’ve decided to live on just juices for one day a week during the GJF, as my participation in the juicy journey...most likely I’ll do this on Mondays…and it was very interesting for me to plunge back into that way of living yesterday. Things that I noticed included:

-I drank a LOT of juice – 6 quarts/litres – WOW, that’s 1.5 gallons :)
-I was VERY VERY cold, all day – in terms of the weather here, it was easily the coldest day we’ve experienced here so far and it was pretty full-on to be living it juicy at the same time ;) I felt like I would have happily drunk a whole bottle of hemp oil if there was one around ;) LOL...all kudos to those out there JF-ing in cold climes...WOW...having JF-ed in Costa Rica, coldness was not smthg I came across much...this put a new perspective on it all for me ystrdy, while I was wearing about half of my wardrobe all at once to stay warm ;)
-I had a slight ache in my left kidney on and off during the day.
-It felt nice to get a break from food, if even just for a day ;) I find it’s always nice to get some distance and perspective on that relationship. I also noticed however that I was happy whenever I remembered I was only doing this for 1 day this time, not 92 ;) LOL...I was happy to think I’d be back to solids again today...

…which I was and interestingly enough, the very first thing I ate was 3 mandarins – and as I looked down at their beautiful little segments I suddenly saw the Doctrine of Signatures staring straight back at me ;) The mandarin segments look like tiny little kidneys :) WOW - that’s exactly what my body was telling me hurt during my juicy day...well, I guess the mandarins got to work in some way or another, as no more kidney pain lingers at present – hurrah :)

On March the 3rd, I had:

1.5 quarts water
1.5 cups nettle tea
1 quart lettuce/chard/zucchini/cucumber/radish/ginger/apple juice – yummmmmmmmmmm :)
3 cups lettuce/chard/zucchini/cucumber/radish/ginger/apple juice
2 cups ginger tea
little paste of honey, spirulina, bee pollen and cinnamon powder
3 cups lettuce/chard/zucchini/cucumber/radish/ginger/apple juice
1.5 quarts watermelon/orange juice
1 tsp green powder
1 quart green juice: celery/lettuce/cucumber/ginger/carrot
1 pint water
1 quart watermelon/orange juice

UH-OHHHHH...look away now if you can’t handle any more raw food internet inspiration portals, as this one is DANGEROUS ;) LOL...by some slippery twist of the mouse, I ended up on a new part of ‘giveittomeraw’ yesterday and it is AMAZING – Dhru and the team have made a page that aggregates together clips from all kinds of raw blogs, web-wide...WOW...it is a truly sticky web of raw wonder to dip your toes into and probably find you’re still blissfully floating around in it a couple of hours later – there’s blog feeds from all kinds of people on all kind of raw subjects...I think it’s VERY cool :) You can check it out HERE – don’t say I didn’t warn you though... ;)

on March the 4th, I had:

1.5 quarts water
1.5 cups nettle tea
3 mandarins
16oz green juice: celery/lettuce/cucumber/ginger/carrot
mix of 2 little bowls of Monarch Mulberry YUM: bowl number 1 was mulberries soaked overnight in blended raspberries/apples, swirled with ground flax. Bowl 2 was mulberries soaked overnight in blended apples, swirled with cinnamon and ground flax. Both absolutely exquisite ;)
1 quart water
1.5 cups peppermint tea
12oz green juice: celery/lettuce/cucumber/ginger/carrot
bowl of ‘raw noodles’: grated cucumber mixed with sunflower seed pate, avo pieces, mixed sprouts, finely chopped green onions and karengo seaweed, served in lettuce wraps and nori sheets – YUMM :)
1.5 cups peppermint tea
1 quart water

There’s one question people KEEP writing in to ask, so I think it’s best to answer it here, so we all get to know the answer at once ;)
Here’s one version of it, sent in today by Monique:

‘I just am curious as to how in the world, you are able to travel around the world, visit these beautiful and exotic places you talk about, share your daily experiences and not have a traditional job to sustain yourself?’

Thanks for the Q :) I have been able to live and travel as I have through a combination of lots of nice friends, 'relying on the kindness of strangers', trusting the universe to guide me and living my highest truth...no trust fund or hefty bank account bouying me along - just faith, commitment and a love of simplicity ;) (Though growing up in a family where most people worked in airlines was a definite travel bonus in my younger years... ;)
I live pretty simply - no house/car/debt etc, no ties, no kids, simple food, simple lifestyle...so I don’t have many expenses. I have a backpack, clothes and a laptop that come with me everywhere. Through the internet, I am able to run RawReform from wherever I am – I sell my ebooks, along with many other things too now through my Online Store. I give talks and do one-on-one consultations and retreats - altogether it brings me plenty enough money to keep on moving and shaking ;)
As I wrote in a previous post, before RawReform started up, I used to do long-term volunteering work. I always chose programmes that were paid for or very reasonably priced – many out there ask you to pay large sums of money to participate. I wasn’t into those ;) I’ll share here the main ones I DID do, though some of them are really only relevant for people in the UK/Europe – in any case, here we go:

-WYMA – World Youth Millennium Awards – this is a ‘branch’ of VSO (a HUGE worldwide voluntary service). The programme is for 18-25 year olds and runs for 6 months. I went to Sri Lanka. (NOTE: This programme now seems to have a new name: Global Xchange.)
-CSI - Service Civil International – another worldwide agency that runs mostly short-term projects for very reasonable rates. I worked in Slovakia, The Netherlands and Hungary on various projects.
-EVS – European Voluntary Service – INCREDIBLE programme that allows any young person in Europe to get funded to go to any place worldwide (more or less) for a year and do voluntary work. I went to Iceland and worked with people with disabilities.
-WWOOF – Willing Workers On Organic Farms – wonderful worldwide organisation that hooks up volunteers to organic farms to help out for 4-6 hours a day. I WWOOFed around New Zealand.
-CAT – The Centre for Alternative Technology – I lived at the incredible CAT centre in Wales for 6 months as a volunteer one winter – it’s a phenomenal place for sustainable lifestyles...

Hope that helps ;)

Juicy News, Green Powders and Gifts from Gaia...

OOoooo La Laalalalalalaaaa – we are now officially launched into liquid world with the start of the Global Juice Feast yesterday on March the 1st. Globaljuicefeast.com is all a-buzz with activity and I’m happy to hear that many of you have also been enjoying listening in to the set of JF conference calls we just put up on the RawReform store. I have three pieces of yummy juicy news for you today:

1. We now have the first, FREE conference call up there for download too. This was the hour-long call we did prior to recording the main set of 4 calls and it’s available now as a free download from HERE. We also put together a little package of all four of the main conference calls for a reduced price of $35 for all 4, instead of $10 each if bought separately :) YAY – you can see that package and access all the juicy info HERE.
2. Those juicy yumsters Justin and Heidi over at RawFoodRightNow.com just posted their review of my book ‘A Juice Feaster’s Handbook’ – thanks guys, glad you enjoyed it :) – you can see their review HERE.
3. I’m also happy to say that I’ve reached a personal conclusion about my participation in this year’s GJF – I’m going to have a straight juicy day once a week – most likely every Monday, depending on scheduling and starting TOMORROW :) Back on the juices for Ms. Stokes on the ‘morrow…yeeeeeeeeeee-HAH… :)

On March the 1st I had:

1.5 quarts water
1.5 cups nettle tea
3 mandarins
20oz celery/cucumber/parsley/kale/radish/lettuce/carrot juice
bowl of raspberry bliss: soaked dried mulberries blended with fresh raspberries, with LSA (ground linseed/sunflower seeds/almonds) stirred in, plus more berries for chewability
1 quart water
2 cups peppermint tea
10 amazing, dark prune plums
18oz celery/cucumber/kale/apple/ginger juice
½ watermelon
1 quart water

Here’s a quick reader Q from Mary:

“A question> How do you consume your green powder? I have been taking it regularily now for some weeks just in water, however, I certainly DO NOT enjoy the taste and sometimes it can make me feel a bit nauseous. You do have any tips on how to do it better? Blessings, Mary”

Hmmm...well, to be honest, I just eat green powder with a spoon, straight from the package...LOL...I love it – especially the wheatgrass powder we have here at the moment – it is sweeeeeeeeeeeet – gimme a spoonful of that any day over fresh wheatgrass juice ;) Green powders can vary HUGELY in taste though, depending on which you use – an algae, like spirulina or chlorella? Or grasses/veggie mixes? Or smthg that has a huge range of ingredients in it? Personally, I prefer the tastes of ‘cleaner’ green powders usually – like straight wheatgrass, or straight spirulina for example, rather than complex mixes. I do REALLY like Greener Grasses which is from Healthforce Nutritionals and is a simple blend of 6-8 grasses, no fillers...I find that the taste of green powders starts to get a bit ‘messy’ usually when there’s dozens of different ingredients, besides which, sometimes I really wonder about the body’s ability to decipher the mixed messages in smthg complex like that… ;) So, it really all depends which green powder you’re using...for example, I really don’t appreciate much the taste of chlorella – whereas I LOVE spirulina and can often be found with a green ‘spirulina’ mouth when supplies are nearby ;) If it’s spirulina you’re dealing with, I’d suggest a very simple recipe is to mash up an avocado and stir in 1 tbsp of spirulina and the juice of one lemon (or half, depending on how juicy it is). I used to eat that every day at one point – LOVED it :) Other ways to get more green powder into your life: throw it in smoothies/juices or sneak small amounts of it into sweet meals (e.g. sometimes we sneak some extra greenery into things like the ‘blended mulberry’ meals we make, or ‘apple flax’). If you use small amounts of green powder like that, with stuff that tastes yummy, you’re getting your extra nutrients in, without pulling ‘yuck’ faces ;) Also, the ‘nauseous’ reaction you’re having could be for a number of reasons – it might be you’re simply using a powder that doesn’t agree well with you OR it might be that the power of those greens is creating a little detox reaction in you…
Hope that helped – I’d recommend getting on the tasty greens, like Greener Grasses – or better yet, go mainly for FRESH greens, rather than powders anyway ;)

on March the 2nd I had:

1 quart water
3 cups nettle tea
3 mandarins
20oz celery/cucumber/kale/apple/ginger juice
bowl of the Monarch Savoury Speciality: grated cucumbers, avo, sunflower seed pate, garlic, spring onions, arugula, mixed sprouts and karengo seaweed, wrapped in lettuce leaves and nori sheets
1.5 quarts water
few slices of dried papaya, ½ tbsp green powder
bowl of mulberry fruit bliss: soaked dried mulberries blended with fresh blueberries and served swirled with fresh cherries and a little LSA (ground linseed/sunflower seeds/almonds)
1 quart water

I am feeling SO blessed and blissed in this little corner of paradise we currently find ourselves caretaking...this morning I awoke and wandered out onto the dewy grass for my morning yoga and was greeted by a graceful slither of rainbow, positioned directly in the space between the trees that guides our view down to the ocean...quite, quite beautiful...it only lasted a few minutes...I took a photo – you can see it here to the right – not sure if you can make out the rainbow from here – I hope so :) Then this afternoon I went for a delicious wander in this local area and found my way into an incredible grove full of ENORMOUS old rocks and unfathomably twisted trees that have worked their way up from the floor of this shady grove towards the sunlight way above, clinging to the sides of the rocks in the most bizarre formations – it’s an incredible little pocket of life there…take a look at this picture I took and you can see one of the trees with these huge roots stretching all the way down to the ground down the sides of this boulder...it actually almost seemed like a film set, the whole place – it was just so amazing to think that a place like this actually exists, untouched, except for a pathway to gawp from... ;)
While we’re on the subject of beautiful, inspiring locations, dear ladies and gentleman, we have a request for information from a dear raw chap who is seeking guidance on places to enjoy in Kauai for extended stays this summer...anything yummy to share? Or raw-friendly places anywhere in Hawaii would be interesting to know about for that matter...please send any leads to angela@rawreform.com and I’ll compile all the info and post here – thanks :)

Raw Emotions and Juices Flowing...

I’m excited to announce that the latest RawReform ‘book baby’ is nearly ready for delivery ;) Raw Emotions was given a ‘due date’ originally of March the 1st...well, for now, that’s looking a little premature for this particular baby – however, we’re expecting arrival by no later than March the 7th though now ;) Which just happens to be the day for the new moon in compassionate, transcendent Pisces – how ideal :) Apologies for any inconvenience, for those who have been patiently awaiting this arrival...Raw Emotions will be gracing the inbox of those who have pre-ordered it, very soon...we’d just love to fully polish up the last details in the next few days for you, so that you get the best version to enjoy...If you’re unfamiliar with this new impending arrival, Raw Emotions is my latest e-book, exploring the emotional and spiritual transformations people tend to experience when they go raw and is packed with tips for easing your own transformation along... So, thanks again to all who have already pre-ordered and if you would like to see more info and perhaps place your order now, if you haven’t already, please see HERE. :)

on February the 28th I had:

1.5 quarts water
2 big handfuls of blackberries, straight from the bushes
little bowl of cherries
20 oz celery/cucumber/parsley/arugula/cabbage/carrot juice
little bowl of salad: finely sliced romaine lettuce, grated cucumber, karengo seaweed, sundried tomatoes, sunflower seed pate
1 quart water
10oz celery/cucumber/parsley/arugula/cabbage/carrot juice
bowl of fruit salad with chia gel: babako/raspberry/blueberries/nashi pear/apple
1 quart water

Tomorrow - March 1st - is the official kick-off day for the Global Juice Feast – yeeeeeeeeeeee-HAH :) (ALL the more reason to let ‘Raw Emotions’ unfold a little slower for now and shine some more light into juicy joys instead ;)
SO, I’m very excited to say that on the eve of this worldwide foray into feasting we’ve just managed to put up a new set of Juice Feasting Calls for download. ;) This ‘Juice Feasting Conference Call’ series, comprises 4 one-hour calls, which were recorded live in May 2007, after my own 92-day Juice Feast was completed. This is a new way to access in-depth information about Juice Feasting - these calls go deeper into the 'knitty-gritty' than my 'Juice Feasters Handbook'.
In this call series, I discussed many different aspects of Juice Feasting with our wonderful interviewer Michelle, based on the questions sent in by listeners.
Here were the call themes:

Week 1. JUICE FEASTING PRACTICALITIES
Week 2. HOPES AND FEARS
Week 3. SOCIAL ISSUES
Week 4. COMING OFF A JUICE FEAST

If you didn't join us at the time and would like to listen in to these calls, you can now gain access to them all, right HERE. You can download all four calls, to listen to and access at your convenience. Hurray :)
ENJOY ;)

on February the 29th I had:

1.5 quarts water
blackberries straight from the bush, plus wild strawberries, concord grapes and a couple of little apples, all straight from the plants in the orchard – blisssssss :)
1 tbsp green powders
bowl of salad: finely sliced romaine lettuce, grated cucumber, karengo seaweed, sundried tomatoes, sunflower seed pate, served in lettuce wraps and nori sheets
1 quart water
30oz celery/kale/cucumber/zucchini/ginger/radish/lettuce/carrot juice
bowl of outrageously divine raspberry pudding – fresh raspberries blended with soaked dried mulberries, with LSA stirred in (ground linseed/sunflower seeds/almonds), plus more whole fresh raspberries and dried mulberries, to chew on
1 quart water

Ahhhh, the Global Juice Feast... I can hear the sound of juicer motors kicking into action the world over ;) I am so excited for all of you out there in liquid wonderland at the moment...or just about to dive in ;) It’s such an incredible journey to take...and indeed, so many people out there are JF-ing at the moment already...it’s truly phenomenal. In fact, I was delighted to discover this evening that there’s even now a COMMUNITY site, which has been set up my masters of the juicy ceremonies, David and Katrina Rainoshek. It's just like GiveItToMeRaw.com – for JFeasters :) There are already over 250 members, supporting each other and tuning in to the global flow...if you’re already a member of GITMR, it’s even easier to join this ‘sister’ site, as your info, friends etc can be transferred over with your ID – very cool – you can see my profile HERE.
I still haven’t decided what my participation in this feast will look like ;) LOL...yet I think, considering the fact that the event officially kicks off in less than 24 hours as I write this – it’s highly unlikely I’ll be in the game for 92 days again this time round...it just doesn't feel like my calling right now...I may indeed dip in and out a bit though – especially with the equinox coming up soon in March (Autumn for us down in this part of the world – Spring for those of you up there ;)
So, happy juicy journeys to all of you about to foray out into fluidity... Oh and if you need any last minute juicy supplies, remember to check out the Juice Feaster’s Epicentre in the RawReform store, HERE.

ENJOOOOOOOY :)

Reflections and Rejoice...

WOW...one year ago tomorrow – February the 20th 2007 - I broke my 92-Day Juice Feast...this was my last day in liquid world and this time last year I was busy breaking out the prunes to soak for the next day ;) Here’s a little of what I wrote that day:

"Over the last three months I have
lived and juiced through the ups and downs of green juice rejection, pancreas issues, sugar withdrawals, massive mucus expulsion, intrepid hiking trips, housing upheavals and more… You could probably fill a swimming pool with the amount of
juice I’ve consumed…and going by the theory that we ‘go back in time 120 days for each day of juice feasting’, I have gone back in time over 30 years now…which means…I am pre-birth again I guess… ;) well, that’s nice…time to rise like a phoenix again then…"

…wow ;) You can read the whole of that post HERE. It seems I’d also JUST finished editing the Juice Feaster’s Handbook that day too – that crazy juicy energy was obviously working its magic…and what a long way the Juice Feasting world has come since then ;) There are an astonishing number of yumsters out there living la vida liquid at the moment and with the official kick-off of the GLOBAL JUICE FEAST on March the 1st, I suspect supplies of mason jars may very well run dry in N. America ;) To see who’s juicing what, check out the ‘Ultimate List of Juice Feasting Blogs’ compiled by Heidi and Justin over at RawFoodRightNow HERE.
The delightful masters of juicy ceremonies, David and Katrina Rainoshek are doing incredible web-weaving to bring this whole event together and EVERYONE is welcome ;) Just check out juicefeasting.com and you’ll find all the ‘juicy’ details there...(tee-hee ;) BTW – people keep asking if I’m going to JF again now with the global waves...hmmm...to be honest, I’m not sure yet...might be...might do one juicy day a week...I’ll see how it unfolds as the time draws nearer... ;)

on February the 18th I had:

1.5 quarts water
1 quart celery/cucumber/zucchini/radish/carrot juice
bowl of mulberries blended with veggie juice, stirred with fresh blueberries and more dried mulberries to chew on ;)
2 cups water
2 cups rooibus tea
1 cup green smoothie: banana/spinach/weeds
7 little mandarins and 2 nectarines
1 quart water
little bowl of avo mushed with sprouts, diced tomatoes/garlic and karengo seaweed, served in lettuce wraps and nori sheets
3 cups water

Tomorrow - Wednesday, February 20 – also happens to see the Full Moon in Virgo – time for health and healing with a total lunar eclipse, according to the lovely lady of lunar forecasts, Ms. Lisa Dale Miller. Here’s a little of what she has to share about this occasion:

“In truth, we all express our Virgo side when we strive to be our best. Virgo is the healer, the doctor, the nurse, the teacher, the therapist, the worker, the researcher, the scientist, and the engineer. Virgo is the true healer of the zodiac because in its mind, if it causes pain, it warrants attention and a cure. For Virgo, caring comes in the form of finding workable solutions to everyday problems.
This is the Full Moon to celebrate the body and take responsibility for our health. If you are currently dealing with a serious health issue, don’t take anything at face value.
Become an active partner in your healing process. Read the research, ask lots of questions and engage your practitioners in dialogue about your progress. Virgo wants to understand the mechanics of illness so that it can better affect a cure. This kind of questioning may include opening yourself to alternative treatments or new approaches.
By the way, this is the ideal Full Moon to start a weight loss or de-tox program... the Full Moon in Virgo reflects a tremendous desire to throw off unhealthy habits that create sickness and sadness in our lives.
This Virgo Full Moon also gives us all an opportunity to make friends with our inner critic; that slave driver who can be either a helpmate or a hindrance. For those of you with strong Virgo in your charts, this is the Full Moon to tame the perfectionist living inside your head. You know… the one that says, “Nothing I do is good enough.” Those inner voices of self-doubt block the ability to act with conviction. This is the time to talk back to self-doubt and take control! Use this Full Moon to say, “This is good enough!” and get your talent out there.”

Oooohhhh, thank you for that last paragraph, Lisa ;) If MY Virgo has its way, I don’t think ‘Raw Emotions’ will ever be ready for public viewing ;) Breathing deep and extending a friendly hand to Virgo here... ;)

on February the 19th I had:

1.5 quarts water
24oz celery/cucumber/radish/lettuce/cabbage/carrot juice
bowl of magical berry mush: dried mulberries blended with banana and blueberries, with more mulberries and blueberries stirred in
2 quarts water
big handful of cherries
½ a big watermelon
handful of wakame seaweed with pumpkin seeds
1 quart water

Today we walked up Mount Maunganui near Tauranga, in the Bay of Plenty. WOW :) Here are a couple of pics I took from the summit. It was a glorious day for it and so beautiful to see the shimmering waters, the fern-clad hillsides and all the sweaty, smiling joggers ;) The mountain is out on a spit, surrounded on three ‘sides’ by water and there are paths around it, as well as up to the summit. This was an especially yummy trip for me today, as when I was last here, I was not really able to reach the summit. Back in the year 2000 I weighed nearly 300lbs and was staying in this area as a volunteer on an organic farming homestead. On my day off, the ‘grand-dad’ of the family I was with suggested I might like to visit the mountain, then hastily added, ‘you won’t be able to walk to the top though’. I wasn’t sure why...perhaps it was closed that day or smthg...? Then his daughter asked him to clarify why and he bluntly said ‘well, look at her...’ I felt extremely uncomfortable and shamed. Indeed, I didn’t climb to the summit on that day 8 years ago. I did today though ;) ...and it was glorious...and I am grateful...

All love,
Angela. xxx
