Inspiration For Your Bathroom Wall :)

If you watch our daily online TV show, you may have recently seen us sharing the story of our new colonic system in the bathroom here in Vilcabamba - see HERE if you missed that episode...

In that video we also introduced you to the lovely piece of prose that graces our bathroom wall...this is an inspiring little piece of text that I pieced together based on smthg emailed to me earlier this year...it's great to read whilst brushing your teeth, flossing etc...AAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaand, I just uploaded it as a free PDF file to my site, HERE, so that y'all can download it if you like, print it out and post it up in YOUR bathroom or any other place where you might see it regularly, to remind yourself and others just how blessed we really are and also how powerful we are in terms of creating our own realities...

You can download the text HERE - please feel free to share it with friends and loved ones too - enjoy ;)

on October the 26th I appreciated:

1 quart water
2 cups greeeeeeen juice mixed with pineapple juice
yummmmmy bowl of papaya and banana mixed with fermented coconut yoghurt, carob and maca

6 granadilla, ½ a PINK papaya :)
shared cucumber salad with Mr. M - salad stuffed into nori sheets with a little Brazil nut butter, followed by a carob "brownie batter" yumpot
mug of horchata tea
1 cup water

Also if you watch our daily TV Show, you may have seen today that we had experienced a little 'boo-boo' in the shipping dept, as Mr. M says ;)
The Gnosis raw chocolate bars and Goji Raw Crunch bars were not properly rotated as new stock came in and we have 100s of bars that have now officially passed their 'Best By' date, though the manufacturers assure us they are still fine to eat... ;) We're selling these bars off at HUGE discounts, see the video from today HERE to see what we have and how to bag some for yourself RIGHT NOW, while stocks last ;)

WONDERFUL update from Living Light about the fund for Elaina Love and her young son Dominic who is currently in the process of reversing leukemia at Hippocrates in Florida. You may recall a few days back I posted a message via Living Light calling for donations to help support the lovely Loves during this challenging time and here is a wonderful little update from Living Light:

“Incredibly, within the first 24 hours, we had received over 200 donations ranging from $5 to $250. Since then, the money, love, and prayers have poured in abundantly - we have been overwhelmed with the response. Just today, we received word that a benefactor will pay $2000 of Dominic's medical expenses and financial support is continuing to flow in. At this point, we are happy to report that we are close to raising the entire $20,000 that Elaina estimated she needs to cover their travel to Hippocrates and the services Dominic requires in attempting to save his young life.”

And a little quote from Elaina too, on email, via Living Light:

“Thank you all so very much for your generous contributions to Dominic's healing. My heart is so touched by you all and I am moved to tears daily. It touches me to my soul to know that you all care so much and to know how much we are loved. Dominic told me this morning that he plans on living to be an old man and that he will outlive us all! I loved hearing that. He is the bravest person I know and my personal hero!!!! One of the guests here told me today that he sets a good example for her and the others because he is so willing to do what it takes.
I know your love and prayers are powerful beyond measure. I appreciate your continued love and prayers, and am so grateful to all of you for the part you are playing in Dominic's return to well-being.
With all the love in my heart,
Elaina Love”

Apparently Brian Clement, director of Hippocrates, has also offered a partial scholarship to the Loves to help off-set the fees too :) Dominic still has a lot of healing to work through and all the love, prayers and support being sent their way are SOOOOO appreciated – it warms my heart so immensely too, to know that when one of the raw ‘tribe’ is in a challenging position like this, the raw ‘family’ gathers around to do our best to support them – LOVE it, thank you all SO much for all the yummy flow to the Loves :)

<3, love, LOVE,
Ms. Stokes-Monarch. xxx

6 Years Raw TODAY :)

OOooOoOOooo, I have a VERY exciting JUICY opportunity for someone out there...I’ve been contacted by a lovely woman named Jennifer here in the UK who is looking for someone to be a live-in chef at her beautiful new rural property in the north part of East Sussex, starting in mid-July (see pic – WOW ;).
The role involves preparing fresh veggie juices and salads daily as part of a weight-loss programme for the land-owner. In return, the fortunate being who takes on this position will have their own self-contained ‘bedsit’ living area to enjoy. This position would suit an individual OR perhaps a couple who are happy to share the space together. The property covers 8 beautiful acres, with organic gardens and a swimming pool due to be created this summer.
The position would suit someone who is creative, open-minded and preferably talented at preparing healthy (mostly raw) foods, though Jennifer is willing to train someone to make juice too, if necessary ;)
It is ESSENTIAL that whoever takes on this role is a car driver with their own vehicle, as Jennifer does not drive and part of the job would involve going to purchase produce from nearby shops/markets, etc. The position will be offered at first on a 3-month trial basis, so that each party can confirm that this is something they feel good about ;)
Jennifer has recently returned to the UK from California, where she lived in a raw community for a few years and she is hoping to create a similar supportive network at this new property here.
Aside from this ‘JUICY’ position, Jennifer is also seeking a live-in gardener/caretaker/groundsperson to manage the organic gardens and property, in return for living in another self-contained cottage on the land. (This cottage could also easily accommodate a small family unit or couple if necessary.) The ideal person for this position will have experience with gardening/landscaping/building etc.
There may also be other opportunities to move into a space on the grounds in the future.
Aside from the main house, bedsit and cottage, the estate also contains a restored barn, which has been converted into a lovely ‘workshop’ space, where gatherings will quite possibly be held in the future.
If you would like to contact Jennifer about the Chef or Gardener roles, please email her on: dragonfly229 (at) hotmail.com (replace ‘at’ with the @ symbol), being sure to write ‘Community Retreat Project’ in the subject title, please.
(I imagine these positions are likely equally open to international candidates as they are to UK residents, provided any international applicants take care of their own visa/travel arrangements, etc.)

on May the 28th I had:

1 quart water
40oz watermelon/orange juice
½ tsp bee pollen
3 cups cucumber/radish/endive/cabbage/lettuces/spinach/carrot juice
3 cups water
1 quart cucumber/celery/apple/ginger juice
½ tsp spirulina powder
cup of rooibus tea
½ tsp coconut oil
2 cups cucumber/radish/endive/cabbage/lettuces/spinach/carrot juice
2 cups water
juice of 2 oranges mixed with spirulina powder
1 cup water

As I post this, it is May the 30th 2008 and it is exactly 6 years today since I went raw, up in Iceland :)))
WHAT a journey it’s been :O I feel so very blessed to be on this path, living my truth, sharing with so many incredible people and watching the shifts in lives/consciousness...it is an amazing gift...
As I’m in England at the moment, I took the opportunity to seek out my old diary from 2002, to see what my thoughts were during those fateful days 6 years ago...here are some choice excerpts:

Firstly, this is how I summed up the evening before the 30th, when I was lent the ‘Raw Family’ book by my friend – a crossroads moment in my life...

May 29th, 2002
‘After dinner (pasta), felt very full and tired and uncommunicative. Decided to go out to tent. Laid out there – cold, but made fires in my stomach and was fine. Then H, being very sweet, brought me sleeping bag and books to read. One of them was the story of the ‘raw family’ – Russians who only eat raw food. Read whole book in about 2 hours – it was fantastic, a revelation. Seemed so simple and so revolutionary – I felt like I should really do it. But so many complications seemed to be in the way. But then also, a lot of positive things for me – like I don’t own any kitchen stuff yet, I’m almost vegan now anyway, I work in greenhouses = free veg and no-one relies on me to cook, etc... Hmmm...decided to sleep on it...’

WOW – how perfect – laying with a belly-full of pasta, reading the book that was about to flip my life inside out ;)
Here’s what I wrote the next day...

May 30th, 2002
‘Didn’t sleep so well, as head was full of revolutionary thoughts about being raw. Sort of decided to do it, by accident – just prepared breakfast of fruit. It had begun. To work and hunger pangs starting to creep in were fended off with cucumber shoots, as I turned them.’
(I was working in organic greenhouses at the time, tending cucumbers, tomatoes and bell peppers ;)

It’s so interesting to me to look through these old diaries and see how much my life has shifted these last 6 years...perhaps I'll share some more excerpts over the coming days, seeing where I was at on my journey back then ;)
Tonight I went to a 5 Rhythms dance class to 'celebrate' the transformation I have experienced and danced myself into a trance of love and gratitude...LUSH...thank you to everyone who has rippled through my life path in these last years...may there be much more joy to unfold together yet... :)

on May the 29th I had:

1 quart water
juice of 2 oranges mixed with spirulina powder
3 cups watermelon juice
2.5 cups green juice: cucumber, celery, spinach, chard, radish, endive, cabbage, carrot juice
2 cups water
1lb GORGEOUS cherries
1 tsp green powder
2 cups green juice: cucumber, celery, spinach, chard, radish, endive, cabbage, carrot juice
½ a large, gorgeous papaya
2 cups green smoothie: mango/banana/spinach
2 cups water

on May the 30th I had:

1 quart water

2 cups celery/cucumber/radish/endive/cabbage/watercress/arugula/cilantro/carrot juice

Lisa in the UK wrote in to say:

"Hi Angela, great that you are back in blighty for a bit and good to hear that all these interesting things are happening over in the states - but is anything like it happening over ere at all do you know? sunshine and peace Lisa"

WELL, my dear...there is in fact a VERY exciting looking festie coming up in the lush Sussex countryside, from August the 15th-18th. It is called the ‘Space of Love’ festie and is a different manifestation of the ‘Funky Raw’ festie that has been running every summer down in Devon for the last few years. The lovely Lara and Matt have taken over the running of the festie this year and transplanted it to Sussex, which will make it easier to access for all the raw foodies in the London/Brighton area... ;) There will be:

raw food talks, demos, music, yoga, drumming, massage, meditation, qi gong,
sweat lodge, raw goddess workshop, kids’ yurt, healings
and amazing raw/living food catered by the divine Shell of TheRawKitchen.co.uk

This is a drug-free and alcohol-free festie and tickets are capped at 150 attendees on the land, so register soon if you want to be assured of a place ;) Weekend tickets for adults are a highly reasonable £60 for adults (£50 concessions), £30 for 6-18 year olds and under-5s go free. You can also just get a day pass for the Sunday, for £25.
For more info, see the SpaceOfLove site – hope to see you there :)

All love,

Celebration Time...

On this day – November the 20th - last year, I started my 92-Day Juice Feast in Costa Rica…so this blog is now OFFICIALLY one-year-old…YAAAAAY :)
WOW…starting my Juice Feast seems like a loooooooooong time ago to me now…you can see what this day was like for me a year ago on my post from back then, HERE (WOW - check out all those necklaces back then ;).
Interestingly, my intake of the last couple of days has also been very light and predominantly liquid – not TOTALLY liquid like back then though ;) It just seems like this time of year resonates with me for lightening the load…
AaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAaAAAaaaand, to CELEBRATE, we’ve created a super-juicy 10% off coupon for the RawReform Store for y’all to enjoy…I am SO grateful for all the gifts Juice Feasting has brought to my life, as well as to those who have since ventured into liquid lifestyles for themselves…so, at this time of Thanksgiving in the US, I extend this special 10% off coupon to all readers of this e-journal, to express my gratitude… You can use it to get your OWN yummy Juice Feast supplies in the Juice Feaster’s Epicentre, or pick and choose from the site as you please…just enter the code ‘Juice’ at the checkout of the store and you’ll get 10% off your order. That means a potential $40 off a new Green Star Juicer, for example – yummy ;) This special ‘Thanksgiving’ code is valid until midnight EST on the 26th of November – enjoooooooooooooy ;)

on November the 19th I had:

1 quart water
½ medium watermelon
1 quart cilantro/cucumber/carrot/romaine juice
3tbsps chia soaked in bananas mashed with black sapote flesh, swirled with mulberries
2 cups water
little bag of cherries
2 mangoes
1 pint of parsley/celery/romaine/carrot juice
1 quart green smoothie: banana, mango, sunflower greens, alfalfa, romaine, swirled with goji berries
2 cups water

JOB Alert
A’ight, people, listen up…Mr Monarch and myself are on the search for a professional web designer/programmer. We’re looking for someone who preferably has experience with OS Commerce, Joomla and general programming. The projects we would be sending your way can be very varied – we’re looking for somebody flexible, mature and focused. We’d love to hear from you if you have at least three years experience in this field and feel your work is reliable, punctual and dedicated. Ideally you will have a very keen eye for both graphics/design AND programming matters. If this is your passion and you’d be excited to work on our projects, we’d love to hear from you – contact matt@rawspirit.org in the first instance. (We’re open to candidates from any location for this position, as all the work is web-based.)

on November the 20th I had:

1 quart water
soak water from prunes, then handful of soaked dried prunes – yummmmm ;)
1 quart watermelon juice
1 quart celery/parsley/cucumber/romaine/carrot juice
1 cup green juice blended with sunflower greens
3 tbsp chia soaked in blended banana/black sapote mixture, swirled with mulberries
2 mangoes, 1 custard apple

'Virtually' there... :)

MmmmmmMmmMMmmmMMmm :) I’m SO happy…Mr Monarch being the light-worker of joy and gorgeousness that he is, rigged it up today so that I could speak directly with Skype through our computer webcams to anyone at his booth at Raw Spirit Fest – it’s like I’m ‘virtually’ there – I love it :) I caught up with many old friends and met many more lovely new raw peoples too…it was great fun, seeing it all play out on our little video screens :) Skype at least knows no borders ;) Someone actually wrote to me today asking if there is a ‘live feed’ from Raw Spirit available anywhere…hmmmm, well, not that I know of, other than the one I got to play through today ;) GREAT idea though – we can suggest it for next year…David Rain speaks at the festie in place of me tomorrow afternoon at 4.30, on the juicy subject of...Juice Feasting ;)

on October the 11th I had:

1 litre water
800ml green juice with carrot
bowl of durian blended with coconut meat and cinnamon, with dried mulberries :)
300ml water
handful of CHERRIES – I know, cherries in OCTOBER…what is THAT all about…???
500ml water
500ml STRONG green juice with carrot (celery, romaine, spinach, black radish, dandelion, ginger)
bowl of blended banana with maca and cinnamon, swirled with ‘buckwheaties’, pumpkin seeds and raisins (YUMM…)
1 litre water

Errrrm, I seem to have stopped eating vegetables…lol…did anyone else notice that? I seem to be totally living that phrase at the moment of ‘drinking your vegetables and eating your fruit’. Salads and so on just do not appeal to me at all. I only seem to be DRINKING vegetables as juice…then eating little meals of either straight fruit, seaweeds or fats…hmmmm, curious…I don’t mind though, it seems to be working just fine for me; I feel no different than usual… I really feel we are all our own little experimenters and explorers with our raw lifestyles…and mine right now seems to be leading me in the direction of only liquid veggies…ok, so be it ;)

on October the 12th I had:

1.2 litres water
1 litre green juice with carrot
nori wraps with hemp seed/flax oil/Celtic seasalt mixture, with flax crackers, dulse and pumpkin seed butter
1 litre water
2 persimmons
box of longans (I am LOVING longans…caramelly, peppery…gorgeous…)
500ml green juice with carrot
bowl of blended banana with maca and cinnamon, swirled with ‘buckwheaties’, pumpkin seeds and raisins
1 litre water
