Five More *Essential* Raw Recipes :)

On October the 28th I enjoyed:

1 quart water
2 cups watermelon/orange juice
chunk of fresh jack fruit
bowl of fruit salad (papaya, granadilla, banana, pineapple) with chia gel and coconut yoghurt
1 cup water
2 cups greeeeeeeen juice mixed with pineapple juice
shared cucumber salad meal with Mr. M - salad stuffed into nori sheets with a little Brazil Nut Butter, followed by a "Carob Brownie Batter" yumpot :)
mug of horchata tea
1 cup water

I wanted to share one more set of five fabulous recipes with you, from all the 100s of "Essential" recipes y'all sent in, in response to the August RawReform Giveaway Contest to win a free copy of Ani Phyo's new book "Ani's Raw Food Essentials". Here below are five more of your wonderful suggestions for yummmmmy raw meals that you love and rely on...enjoy ;)

----------------

Greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen Smoothie

I would have to say my essential Raw Food recipe is my green smoothie, where all the ingredients, except the lemon are green!

2-3 handfuls of organic greens (favorites are spinach, green leaf lettuce, kale)
1 organic haas avocado
1 organic cucumber, 1⁄2 of skin peeled (otherwise tastes too bitter)
20 organic green grapes
1⁄4 lemon, with peel removed (white pith left on)
Handful or 2 of ice cubes
1⁄2 cup filtered water

Blend it until it’s super smooth. Depending on the amount of greens and water, this will easily fill a 32 oz bell jar (or your smoothie container of choice). It has a sweet & sour flavor and super filling, especially when coupled with a handful of sprouted almonds and fresh bell pepper J

----------------

Cashew Cheez

This is a recipe I found online a couple of years ago, I make it more often than anything else. It's great because it can be a spread, a dip, or a sauce. Everyone that tries it loves it, too, and it's so easy!!

1 cup raw cashews
half a large red bell pepper
one juiced lemon (large)
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp sea salt

Put cashews in blender, then add the lemon juice. Add a bit of water (preferably spring water) so that it almost covers the cashews, but not quite. Then add the rest, and blend away!

I like to pour this into halved bell peppers and then top with fresh dill or dulse.
To make it into a salad dressing, just add more water.

SO good, seriously. Sometimes if it seems to sweet I just add more lemon juice. and blend again until it has the nice tart tangy flavour.

P.S. Your recipe for kale chips is now in my top 2 fave recipes - I LOVE them, and so easy.

on October the 29th I was blissed with:

1 quart water
2 cups watermelon/orange juice
4 granadilla
3 cups greeeeeeen juice mixed with pineapple juice
3 cups smoothie: coconut water/carob/greener grasses/lecithin/astragalus/ashwaganda/stevia
2 cups smoothie: coconut water/carob/greener grasses/lecithin/astragalus/ashwaganda/stevia
a papaya
1 cup water
3 cups greeeeeeeeen juice mixed with pineapple juice
2 cups smoothie: coconut water/carob/ lecithin/ ashwaganda/stevia/papaya/lavendar essential oil
1 cup water

Here are three more of your "Essential" raw recipes:

----------------

"Waldorf" Salad

I'd have to say that my essential raw food recipe that I love to make is a variation on the Waldorf Salad.

Ingredients for salad:
2 medium apples, cored and sliced into bite-sized pieces
1 celery stalk, chopped
1 handful of walnuts, soaked then chopped
chopped parsley to taste

Sauce:
juice of 1 orange
3-4 tablespoons almond butter or tahini
cinnamon to taste

To prepare, whisk together sauce ingredients and toss with salad ingredients in a large bowl. This is a quick and easy recipe that definitely satisfies a sweet tooth.

Much love to you,
Ellen P

----------------

Cleansing Energy Smoothie

* 1 1/2 cup of water
* 1 head of organic romaine lettuce, chopped
* 2 organic apples, cored and chopped
* 1 organic banana
* a small bunch of organic cilantro
* a small bunch of organic parsley
* Juice of 1⁄2 fresh organic lemon
* stevia to taste
* (1 tsp of lechitin will make it very smooth!)

Add the water and chopped head of romaine to the blender. Starting the blender on a low speed, mix until smooth. Gradually moving to higher speeds add the herbs and the apples. Add the banana and lemon juice last.

Marianne R.

----------------

Grapefruit Mango Cilantro Green Smoothie

1 mango
1 grapefruit
1 bunch cilantro (or 1-2 c)
1 bunch spinach (or 2-3 c - or another green!)
1/2 lime
1/2 lemon
2-3 c water (to desired consistency)
seeds from 1 vanilla bean pod
agave to taste if needed (depending on the sweetness of the mango and the
size of the lime & lemon :)

Blend and enjoy!! Mmmm...

(This recipe was inspired by/adapted from a recipe by Sarma Melngailis that a friend shared with me.)

Blessings,
Layah J.

The night before we left the USA a couple of weeks ago, we went to see one of the most incredible pieces of theatre I've ever seen (and I've seen quite a lot - I studied theatre for quite some time in school). We went to see Peter Pan in the *amazing* "ThreeSixty" theatre, which travels all over the world to share this beautiful performance...
The "ThreeSixty" Theatre is a unique structure: a travelling, round theatre space where the circular stage in the middle is surrounded by rows of seats for the audience, then all around the inside top of the theatre, images are projected all around the walls, helping to create the "scenery" for each act, with stunning 360 degree moving imagery adding to the acrobatics and top-class entertainment of the actors on stage...wow...I was absolutely CAPTIVATED by this show and would heartily recommend getting along to see it if you can...after we saw it, my sister told me that she also took her two little daughters along to see the show a couple of years back in London and that they too were totally mesmerised by the performance - she said they didn't move the whole way through it - lol ;) Top-quality entertainment - ENJOY, if you get to see it somewhere along the line... ;) You can check out their website here: http://www.peterpantheshow.com...

Recently I tried some of Annmarie Gianni's skincare range for the first time...WOW, these products are amazing :)
We've been selling lovely Annmarie's line for a while now, yet through a silly series of events, I had never yet managed to get my hands on samples of these products to try them out myself - until now :) We saw the Giannis again for the first time in over a year at the Longevity Conference and Annmarie graciously gifted me with some of her Ayurvedic Facial Scrub and Anti-Aging Facial Oil to try out...
Now, I have a confession to make...as I told Annmarie when she gifted me these items, I used to have a pretty intense obsession with facial scrubs ;) lol...when I was obese, I sweated a lot and also had a lot of acne issues on my skin. I couldn't stand my face feeling dirty and sweaty, so I used really harsh facial scrubs daily, often more than once a day, to pull all that sweat and grime off...it was pretty hard on my skin and I'm glad to say that I don't live with that pattern any more ;)
All the same, I was excited to try out Annmarie's new facial scrub, to see how my skin gets on now with such a product...well, I was *AMAZED* at the results after using this scrub for the first time - my skin seriously felt softer than I think I've ever felt it - like silk...the consistency of the scrub was really sublime - at first I wasn't sure it would do much in terms of 'scrubbing', as it seemed so finely milled, yet actually once I started to massage it in, I could feel the texture and it did a great job at removing dead skin cells and brightening up my complexion...and THEN, as if that wasn't enough buffing and shining, I got to try out Ann's gorgeous Anti-Aging Facial Oil too, to finish off the "ultra-glow-complexion" process ;)
I *love* using oils on my skin as moisturiser - whether it's olive oil, coconut oil, rose oil or this new product from Ann, I love the richness of feeding my skin from the outside with high quality oils and Annmarie has done *such* a beautiful job in balancing her mixtures to include nourishing, healing, soothing elements for all skin types... I'm so glad that I finally got to try out Ann's products and look forward to trying her other products too...I'd definitely recommend checking them out if you're into very high-integrity beauty products - she has a great line, including:

We have all of these products available in our store HERE - enjoy ;)

Three Goddess Event Offerings...

Today I would love to let you know about a few different gatherings being organised and offered by three goddesses who I love: Elena Tonetti, Kate Magic and Little Grandmother :)

In the last week before we left the USA, Mr. Monarch and myself immersed ourselves into a life-shifting weekend workshop in New Mexico with wisdom-keeper shaman Little Grandmother, along with our lovely managers of TheRawFoodWorld, Zack and Alara.
I have written here quite a few times before about how much I appreciate the message that Little Grandmother (Kiesha Crowther) is sharing...so it was absolutely beautiful to be able to connect with her in person and absorb her positive, uplifting, motivating visions for the times we are currently living in and also headed towards...she foresees so much joy and liberation as we keep on shifting forwards through 2012 and beyond - I like that resonance :)
So many people at the gathering were moved repeatedly to tears of joy and release, hearing her stories and visions...it was a very deep-rooted, intense experience. Little Grandmother speaks with such clarity, sincerity, humility and grace - I love what she is sharing...one of my favourite aspects of what she shares is the idea that "it is none of my business what anyone else thinks of me". :) :) :)
On the second day of the workshop, we stood in sacred ceremony as a group on tribal grounds, surrounding a medicine wheel with an ancient healing crystal at the centre. We shared a healing ceremony for the sacred feminine and Little Grandmother also told each member of the group the Animal Totem that she saw accompanying them...(fyi, Mr. M is apparently a lemur and I am a mustang :)))
We took this group photo with Kiesha as we were floating out at the end of the weekend...we had such a wonderful time connecting with the Tribe of Many Colors and I would thoroughly recommend gifting yourself the experience of sharing some time with Kiesha if the opportunity ever seems to come up for you...her website is HERE, so you can check out her events schedule there...plus I would highly recommend watching some of her online interviews/talks if you haven't already seen them - see HERE for example to get started...
ENJOY :)

All love,
