Simply RAW :)))

SO, we’re in Ottawa right now, where we’ve been enjoying the yumminess of the Simply Raw Festival. FUN :) It rained like CRAAAAAAZY here the first day of the festival and today we were blessed with gorgeous sun and masses of visitors to this AMAZING free raw food event. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – I LOVE the work Natasha and Mark from Simply Raw carry out. They have graciously hosted this free festival every year for the last 3 years and they do SUCH a beautiful job, with SO much love, heart, presence and commitment. Absolutely gorgeous service in action to the raw food message ;) LOVE it...and what a GORGEOUS festie this has been...great speakers, great booths, great crowd, great food. Such a vibrant, fun celebration...we are SO blessed ;)
Just imagine if free raw food events like this were happening all over the place :O It was so amazing to stand at our booth and see people literally wandering into the festival off the street, who seemed to have had NO exposure to raw foods before at all...of course, this inevitably led to being asked ‘the protein question’ a few times more often than usual, LOL ;) It’s all part of the game though and we were delighted to share all that we could. Thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth and thanks as well to everyone who came along to our talks...we had great fun meeting you all :) I’ve uploaded a few pics from the event to Flickr – you can see those HERE (and to the right you can see a pic of myself and those gorgeous Raw Divas Amy and Tera ;)

on September the 5th I had:

1 quart water
shot of E3 Live
2 tsp wheatgrass powder
2 cups water
wraps: romaine lettuce, pine nut butter, bell pepper, dulse seaweed, sprouts. Followed by a little bowl of carob powder, lucuma powder, yacon powder, goji berries, water mixed together
3 cups water
2 shots of E3 Live
3 tsp wheatgrass powder
3 cups water

OoooOoooo, we were SO excited to visit an amazing eco-fabric boutique here in Ottawa today, called ‘Adorit’ at 159 York Street, with gorgeous organic cotton and bamboo clothes along with reclaimed fabrics and fair-trade goodies from around the world. The shop is run by a super-yummy raw-licious young couple called Lucas and Emma – you can see a little about their store on their site HERE (at the moment though their site mostly covers their fair-trade work with people in Tibet). My favourite two other WONDERFUL online eco-clothing resources I’ve come across recently are:

Adili (HUGE online eco-store in the UK)
White Apricot (Equally enormous and fabulous US online eco-store)

I am SO excited how many more eco-friendly clothing options seem to become available all the time now – we live in such exciting times ;)

If you subscribe to the lovely Jinjee’s ‘Daily Raw Inspiration’ emails, you will have seen this message from her recently about the TV programme her beautiful troupe of raw vegan children have been creating, called ‘The Kidz’. They have posted the whole of the first episode onto YouTube for everyone to enjoy – I think this is SO cool :) The children made the WHOLE show themselves and they would love to make more - here’s how Jinjee described the project in her message:

“...a show that conscious parents can enjoy with their kids, as well as a show that is vibrant and green enough to entertain indigo children! If you like it, if your children like it, sign up and inspire us to make more episodes of this series at http://www.TheGardenDiet.com/morekidz

Here is the free Youtube version of Episode 1 of The Kidz, - Journey to Seal Island
: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWgYt0Sp1HE

You'll see our children, Raven, Jome, Shale and Adagio, in their first acting roles, playing four kids who set sail on their own nature adventures! You'll see them hiking, foraging, sailing, and fighting! You'll see sea elephants up close! You'll see Storm and Jinjee in their home office. And you'll see an animation that the kids did for an introduction to this show!”

FUN – check it out HERE and enjoooooooooyyyyyyyyyy

All love,
