Raw in Glastonbury :)

OoOOoOooooo I am having FUN in the south-west of England :)
I arrived here on Monday evening and have been staying with my lovely hosts Lisa and John in
North Devon. Lisa runs RawLisa.com, sharing raw classes, gatherings and info in this area. Yesterday we went on a wonderful day trip to Glastonbury where Lisa organised a speaking event for me in the evening and we had major fun all day connecting with the sites and people of Glastonbury :)
As I wrote before, I'd never been to Glastonbury previously and it was wonderful to climb the 'Tor' where the Michael and Mary leylines conjoin, taking in the lovely views for miles all around. Then we visited the peaceful oasis of Shekinashram, where it turned out an old friend was now living and he showed us around :) This ashram used to be a raw food community and is now vegan with a lot of raw options. They have accommodation, courses, workshops and so on. Lovely atmosphere and a great-looking sauna too ;)
Then we went to lunch with the delicious Andrew and Angela of TheRawFoodSchool.com - YUMMMMMM :) What a treat. This gorgeous couple definitely know how to serve up the good raw eats. MASSES of fresh raw greens, simple, delicious and full of LOVE :) They run raw food prep courses both here and in London - see their site HERE for more info. They are also creating an edible forest garden around their home - love it :)
A walk through Glastonbury high street led us to, through and in to a myriad of amazing little shops abundant with crystals,
eco-friendly goods, handmade clothes and crafts and so on...I suspect I could have happily lost myself into these little lanes for at least a week to explore all the shiny things ;O We pressed on to Mr. Free Love's Hemp Shop though, where we were lovingly greeted with more greeeeeeeeeeeeeeen liquid love and eye-fuls of hemp goodies...
Old friends seemed to pop up all over the place - pretty amusing in a town I'd never been to... Well,
it's a small raw world... ;)
Thanks to everyone who came along to the talk last night too - it was lovely to share. I also speak tomorrow night (thursday 26th) in
Barnstaple - details HERE. Hope to see you there if you're in this area... ;)

on February the 22nd I had:

You can see masses more about him HERE and you can access the FREE summary of his wonderful book from HealthBookSummaries HERE.

He has masses of great info to share...ENJOY :)

big mug of ginger/lemon tea

2 cups green juice: celery, cucumber, local greeeens, spinach, Jerusalem artichoke, ginger, lime

30 chlorella ‘nuts’

3 cups green juice: celery, cucumber, local greeeens, spinach, Jerusalem artichoke, ginger, lime

on February the 24th I had:

1 quart water

cup of ginger/lemon tea

2 cups green smoothie - orange, parsley, broccoli

3 yummy little apples

30 chlorella 'nuts', little handful of goji berries

AMAZING raw lunch with Andrew and Angela from TheRawFoodSchool.com (thanks, lovelies ;) - a gorgeous spread of lashings of green juice, homegrown kale/avo salad on a bed of fresh arugula, with crackers and outrageously delicious 'cheese' spread, followed by a slice of marvellously moist carrot cake. MmMmmMmmm :)

2 cups water

2 cups green/hemp juice from the magical Mr. Free Love's Hemp Shop ;)

mug of rooibus tea with more carrot cake and a chunk of handmade raw carob bar

1 quart water

MmMMmm, I started watching a WONDERFUL series of four videos on Permaculture before I left on this trip. They feature Bill Mollison - the 'father' of Permaculture - and they are all about using permaculture in urban settings. It was really fascinating to me to see the contrasts between a Western 'civilised' city like New York where tiny patches of food production had been eeked out here and there, compared to a city in Nigeria, where food grows abundantly all over the place and there are local markets all around the city.

Later in the vids, Bill visits the REMARKABLE looking 'Village Homes' eco-settlement in the city of Davis, N. California. WOW - what absolute blisssssful living they seem to have set up in this community. It seems long established now and listening to some of the residents discuss how amazing it has been for them to raise children there is just beautiful. The children have the run of the land, have grown up with food all around them, have many more people looking out for them than their parents alone, are healthy, strong, active, engaged with nature...just wonderful and so inspiring...

You can see these 4 videos HERE in a long playlist of Permaculture titles - these ones start at number 10 in the list - they're called 'Urban Permaculture Strategies' - ENJOY :)

All love and abundantly juicy flow,

Heart Fuel :)

OoOoooooo, I want to share a BEAUTIFUL story with you today, from my dear friend Solla, the raw goddess in Iceland ;) Solla was voted one of the top raw chefs in the world in the 2008 ‘Best of Raw’ awards :) Those of you who are friends with her on Facebook will know that she posts amazing raw recipes there daily – she is so popular in fact on Facebook that she has reached the 5000 people limit to the friends she can have there ;)
WELL, this woman’s love and generosity flow with such beauty and today she sent me a message that I felt was SUCH a gorgeous illustration of love in action that I wanted to share it here.
Recently, Solla’s laptop unfortunately ‘died’. It seemed that ALL her work was lost and she had no back–up. She was very sad and concerned about this situation. She took the computer to be fixed and the engineer told her it was highly unlikely he’d be able to do anything to retrieve any of the lost data. Solla was very upset. Then a while later, she got a call from this repair–man telling her that somehow – and he had NO real idea how – he had managed to retrieve nearly everything that had disappeared. Solla grinned and affirmed that she is blessed ;)
The man reflected on this and began to tell her a story from his own life of feeling blessed. Apparently for many years he had worked as a cleaner on the night shift in one of the large supermarkets in Reykjavik. Every shift, he would find a plate of delicious food left there for him. He didn’t really know where the food came from, but he very much appreciated these ‘midnight snacks’ during his 11pm–5am ‘grave–yard’ shift.
Solla listened to his story and suddenly something clicked into place for her – she realised that SHE was the one who had left all those yummy meals for him ;O She used to do food demos and classes in the supermarket and was aware that someone must clean the place up at night, so she would leave a dish of whatever she’d made, for them to enjoy.
After they uncovered this curious trail of connection between them, the man happily handed back her computer with no charge ;) He was delighted to be able to ‘re–pay’ her for all the delicious meals over the years. :) WOW – the Universe truly works in some marvellous, fantastical loops of weaving wonder at times ;) LOVE it...

on Feb the 10th I had:

1 quart water
2 cups green juice: celery, cucumber, fennel, endive, kale, celeriac, ginger, lime
2 cups energy soup with okra and tahini
little cup of spicy tea and AMAZING ‘Celestial Cina–Pecan’ nuggets – WOW :))))
3 cups water
gorgeous little heart–shaped ‘burger’ from Manna, followed by lemon/mint cheesecake and many cups of berry tea ;)
3 cups water

Those of you following the RevitaLive Plan will know that Solla made all the recipes for that programme too...and we’ve been getting GLOWING feedback about the meals so far :) If you missed out on being friends with Solla on Facebook to access all her yummy recipes, you might like to know that she is going to keep on providing ongoing monthly raw/Intermediate meal plans in our ‘Inner Circle’ community. You can learn more about the community HERE.
We’ve been getting WONDERFUL feedback about the RevitaLive programme so far – here are a few recent comments:

“I joined three days ago and am loving the plan!! Love the menus!
I'm noticing more clarity in my life and I feel more vibrant. I've lost 5 lbs in three days. Thank you thank you for the plan and for your example.”
Traci

Brilliant program. Love the videos...enjoying this immensely. Thank you!”
Lynn

“Thank you so much for this wonderful program. I’ve been eating raw for 5 days now and I already lost 10 pounds. Is that possible?! I cannot believe how fast it’s going and how good I feel. I feel like a new person!
This is coming from someone who has been a compulsive overeater all her life. I don't feel like I need to overeat anymore.”
Alexandra

You can see more about the RevitaLive Plan HERE.

on Feb the 11th I had:

1 quart water
2 cups green juice: celery, cucumber, fennel, endive, kale, celeriac, ginger, lime
2 cups water
2 delicious little persimmons and 2 apples
2 cups energy soup with okra and tahini
cup of dandelion tea
little bowl of hand–blended yummmm: hemp butter, carob powder, lucuma powder, maca, vanilla, cinnamon, water
cup of dandelion tea
2 cups water

Mmmmm, I was recently sent a link by one reader – Natasha – to the music of a guy called ‘Brett Dennen’ on YouTube. WOW :) I am SOOOO loving his message, tunes, spirit, style. He really seems to sing, write and play with HEART – his lyrics are so direct, sincere and ‘socially conscious’, based around his observations of human interactions, environmental issues, the economy, sustainability, human rights and so on – yet he tackles these often ‘heavy’ subjects in a way that comes across as very accessible and light, rather than any anger–filled outbursts or dry, melancholy clichés. He helps open out issues that people may not necessarily tend to look at, with catchy tunes and lyrics that really touch the heart. He really seems to be on his path in life so beautifully. He seems to be expertly walking the tightrope of communicating edgy social commentary, while delivering these messages as catchy, heart-led music that appeals widely - WOW :) I’m loving his toooons so much that I made my own playlist of them on YouTube ;) You can watch that HERE. I think my favourite song so far overall is ‘Blessed’, for its gorgeous, positive message. I love the video too for ‘Make You Crazy’ – check them out at the link below and ENJOY :)

Create your Own Jukebox :)))

I am feeling very pleased. I have long thought what a lovely idea it would be if one could watch YouTube clips back–to–back, all joined together into a big sequence of whatever you choose to view...WELL, I have recently learnt, via dear Shazzle–Dazzle, that this IS indeed possible :) Maybe you all knew this already ;) lol – I was very excited though about this discovery...
The way it works is through PLAYLISTS on YouTube – ah–HAH, that’s what they’re for ;) Anyone can create multiple ‘playlists’ of their different clips, then anyone else can also go and enjoy those lists, just by clicking on them – they load up and all run back–to–back, so you can get on with juicing or bathing or exercising or whatever you’re doing, with no need to keep going and choosing the next video to watch ;) You can literally create your own jukebox of all your favourite songs or interviews or...whatever you like – and all for free :) LOVE it...
Since learning about the wonder of Playlists, I have been listening to muchos Esther and Jerry Hicks/Abraham/Law of Attraction downloadings, via Shazzie’s playlists, which you can see HERE.
I have also created some playlists of my own, which you can see on my YouTube channel HERE. I have one with ‘Beautiful Songs’, one of ‘Music to Dance To’ and one with videos of myself and the Monarch from other peoples’ channels. SOOOOOO fun to create these music lists especially ;) I’ll surely be doing more with this – ENJOY :)
(N.B., to find anyone's playlists, just go to their channel - e.g. mine is at http://www.youtube.com/rawreform - and click on the little link for 'playlists' along the top of the screen, right underneath the white YouTube bar ;)

on January the 22nd I had:

1.5 cups greeeeen juice: celery, cucumber, parsley, kale, spinach, Jerusalem artichokes, alfalfa sprouts, broccoli, ginger, lime
30 chlorella tablets
2 tsp bee pollen

30 chlorella tablets
3 tsp bee pollen
3 cups greeeen juice: celery, cucumber, parsley, kale, spinach, Jerusalem artichokes, alfalfa sprouts, fennel, ginger, lime

on January the 23rd I had:

1 quart water

little cup of spicy tea
1 quart water

2 cups water

Ooooom, while we’re on the subject of Esther & Jerry Hicks/Abraham, here’s a very cool little nugget that came through from the PhilosophersNotes.com daily email today:

“People talk about the reality of their life as if it is important. And we want you to understand, it’s only the temporary indicator. Do you go to the gas station—your gas gauge is on empty—do you go to the gas station and look at your gas gauge in horror? “How did this happen? [Fun] Why, why, why did this happen to me?” Do you lay your head on the steering wheel and just sob? “Oh, look what it’s come to. [Fun] I’m finished. I’ve lived all of this life, and look where I am.” Or do you just fill up.”
~ Esther and Jerry Hicks from Money, and the Law of Attraction
That’s classic. Meditate, dance, exercise, eat well, laugh, play, create, journal, read, smile, love, breathe deeply, pet your dog, think positive thoughts, imagine your ideal future with such intensity that you can FEEL it, do whatever you need to do to FILL UP. But don’t (pretty, please) look at your “gas” gauge in horror. No need to sob. Just fill up. :)

LOL – love it :) If you still haven’t signed up for your own free PhilosophersNotes account, you can do that HERE, to access multitudes of inspiring free MP3s, PDFs, lectures and more... :)

Let us know too if you have any yummy requests/suggestions/comments etc for the TV show – just email angela@rawreform.com and we’ll do our best to get on it ;)

In case you’re in a raw recipe ‘tizzy’ at this time of year, I thought I’d mention that I dropped by ‘GoneRaw.com’ recently and it’s looking GOOD over there...nice presentation and TONS of searchable recipes...anyone can join and contribute...I think it’s really cool that you can enter any ingredient/search term and it will pop up all relevant recipes for you... You can check out that site HERE if you’re not already familiar with it...
I’m actually intending to make some kind of ‘key lime pie/cheesecake/smthg’ sometime soon, utilising some of the MASS of coconut meat and limes we have here...will be aiming for low glycemic though and no cashews ;) If anyone has any recommendations they’d love to offer, then again, please just email angela@rawreform.com and let us know ;)

Oh my GOODNESS, on the subject of cleansingMs. Suki Zoe, colon hydrotherapist and health renegade ext–raw–dinaire has just posted an amazing set of live blood cell analysis pics to her blog. She did a comparison of her blood after having veggie juice compared to after having cacao powder and agave. WOW...I highly recommend taking a look at those pics for the sheer ‘WOH’ factor... ;) AMAZING contrast...You can check out this juicy lady’s pics HERE...and perhaps use that as inspiration to get your liquids on, lovelies ;) Thanks for sharing, Suki...

Do They Know About Raw Food?

Helllooooooooooo beautiful,
A short burst of connection today to relay...
I made a little raw food song for Christmas. You can see it here if you like and the lyrics are down below:

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Feliz Navidad and all best wishes to you for a supreme...Thursday... ;)
All love,
Angela Claire Santastokes. xxx

Do They Know About Raw Food?

It's Christmas time,
There's no need to be afraid.
At Christmas time you can still eat raw and celebrate.
Yes in a world of cooked food
We can spread a healthy glow
Take raw gojis and desserts wherever you go
But say a prayer,
Pray for the other ones.
At Christmas time, it's hard
To see the foods they munch...
But there's a world beyond that fridge door
And it's a world of love and health
Where the raw community gather to uplift you and to help
When everyone around you seems to be high on processed foods,
Well tonight thank God it's them instead of you ;)
And there won't be greens on many plates this Christmas time.
The most nutritious thing they'll eat is fruit pie.
Oooooohhhhh, where no sprouts ever grow,
And no smoothies or juices flow...

DO they know about raw food at all?
Feed the World,
Let them know about raw food and
Feed the World,
Let them know about raw food
Feed the World
Let them know about RAW FOOD...

;) xxx

Introducing: TheRawFoodWorld.TV

Alright, get ready for some raw ENTERTAINMENT ;)
The Monarch and I have decided to start sharing a lot more videos of our raw adventures, in response to numerous requests...so, may we introduce: TheRawFoodWorld.TV ;)

Mr. M's inner director has been set loose and for the last few days he's been filming and posting clips up in California.
*HERE is a little vid with his mum. LOVE it - hilarious. I watched it at lunch and laughed so much I accidentally sprayed the kale chips I was eating all over my 'puter ;) You can see that video HERE.

*Mr. M also posted an interview today with another Mr. Monarch - his brother, Brian. Very funny too - and I LOVE, love, LOVE that the question 'if you know refined sugars and processed starches are not great for you, why do you still eat them?' was asked and answered. That is smthg that fascinates me about people. You can see that video HERE.

*Meanwhile, over at the RenegadeHealth.com blog, Kevin recently posted a video tour of TheRawFoodWorld.com shipping warehouse in California - so COOL to see...yes, I've never actually even seen our warehouse, as I've been out of the US for sooo long now (hopefully that will all shift soon - please send love towards that vision, if you feel drawn ;). You can see the warehouse tour video HERE.

PHEW...that oughta give you smthg more entertaining to watch than the usual Christmas TV choices ;) ENJOY...

...and on that note, I'd love to take this opportunity to wish you Happy Solstice/Hanukkah/Christmas/Holidays/December/End of Year/New Year/Fill in the Delight of Your Choice ;)

Thanks for coming out to play this last year...and we have SO much more yet to share next year - it's going to be a HUGE year for the raw food movement, methinks...so, let's all keep on peacefully and lovingly spreading the message further and further... Into The LIGHT, amigos :)
All love,

Simply RAW :)))

SO, we’re in Ottawa right now, where we’ve been enjoying the yumminess of the Simply Raw Festival. FUN :) It rained like CRAAAAAAZY here the first day of the festival and today we were blessed with gorgeous sun and masses of visitors to this AMAZING free raw food event. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – I LOVE the work Natasha and Mark from Simply Raw carry out. They have graciously hosted this free festival every year for the last 3 years and they do SUCH a beautiful job, with SO much love, heart, presence and commitment. Absolutely gorgeous service in action to the raw food message ;) LOVE it...and what a GORGEOUS festie this has been...great speakers, great booths, great crowd, great food. Such a vibrant, fun celebration...we are SO blessed ;)
Just imagine if free raw food events like this were happening all over the place :O It was so amazing to stand at our booth and see people literally wandering into the festival off the street, who seemed to have had NO exposure to raw foods before at all...of course, this inevitably led to being asked ‘the protein question’ a few times more often than usual, LOL ;) It’s all part of the game though and we were delighted to share all that we could. Thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth and thanks as well to everyone who came along to our talks...we had great fun meeting you all :) I’ve uploaded a few pics from the event to Flickr – you can see those HERE (and to the right you can see a pic of myself and those gorgeous Raw Divas Amy and Tera ;)

OoooOoooo, we were SO excited to visit an amazing eco-fabric boutique here in Ottawa today, called ‘Adorit’ at 159 York Street, with gorgeous organic cotton and bamboo clothes along with reclaimed fabrics and fair-trade goodies from around the world. The shop is run by a super-yummy raw-licious young couple called Lucas and Emma – you can see a little about their store on their site HERE (at the moment though their site mostly covers their fair-trade work with people in Tibet). My favourite two other WONDERFUL online eco-clothing resources I’ve come across recently are:

Adili (HUGE online eco-store in the UK)
White Apricot (Equally enormous and fabulous US online eco-store)

I am SO excited how many more eco-friendly clothing options seem to become available all the time now – we live in such exciting times ;)

If you subscribe to the lovely Jinjee’s ‘Daily Raw Inspiration’ emails, you will have seen this message from her recently about the TV programme her beautiful troupe of raw vegan children have been creating, called ‘The Kidz’. They have posted the whole of the first episode onto YouTube for everyone to enjoy – I think this is SO cool :) The children made the WHOLE show themselves and they would love to make more - here’s how Jinjee described the project in her message:

“...a show that conscious parents can enjoy with their kids, as well as a show that is vibrant and green enough to entertain indigo children! If you like it, if your children like it, sign up and inspire us to make more episodes of this series at http://www.TheGardenDiet.com/morekidz

Here is the free Youtube version of Episode 1 of The Kidz, - Journey to Seal Island
: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWgYt0Sp1HE

You'll see our children, Raven, Jome, Shale and Adagio, in their first acting roles, playing four kids who set sail on their own nature adventures! You'll see them hiking, foraging, sailing, and fighting! You'll see sea elephants up close! You'll see Storm and Jinjee in their home office. And you'll see an animation that the kids did for an introduction to this show!”

FUN – check it out HERE and enjoooooooooyyyyyyyyyy

Re-forming Our World :)

WOW, thanks so much everyone for all the amazing feedback about the Raw Prison Reform ideas :) Seems like this strikes a chord of interest for many of you too...one reader, Jan, even sent in a link to a WONDERFUL short newspaper article from Texas, where a prison in Collin County has started to grow its own food, in response to escalating food costs. WONDERFUL :)
CLICK HERE to read the article in full – here’s my favourite part of the article, starting with a quote from one of the inmates on his thoughts about growing food:

'"It's interesting to see where it comes from instead of just buying it at the grocery store," Scalf said.

That is where Collin County is
saving money. The jail grows their own fruits and vegetables on 40 acres of land.

"It's a tool we use to control behavior," said Lt. Terry McCraw. "When you are feeding them fresh fruits or corn on the cob or cantalope or watermelon, it helps behavior. If you eat good food, you are happier."'

YES, exactly – oooooooo, I find this all so exciting...let’s see where this goes... ;) Thanks for the inspiring link, Jan :)

Mr Monarch is now here enjoying the delights of Iceland too :) He arrived a few days ago and has, naturally, been loving the clean fresh air and water too...we speak in Reykjavik tomorrow (Wednesday the 23rd) at the Rope Yoga Studio at Engjateigur 19, starting 7pm – hope to see you there if you’re in this area ;) It seems like it’s going to be a very full house – FUN. We’re excited to meet everyone and share... :)
With all the geothermal energy available in this country, there is SUCH massive potential for growing fruits and veggies year-round in geo-thermally heated and powered greenhouses here...I think it’s very exciting; time for Iceland to go RAW on a massive scale, perhaps...? lol – hmmmmm, we’ll see...it’s a bit of a switch in lifestyle from the traditional burnt sheeps’ heads, putrefied shark and heavy dairy products... ;)

Thailand Durian Magic...

We’re in Thailand now, as those of you who read Mr Monarch’s blog will be aware ;) We arrived last night to Bangkok and we’re in a yummy state of bliss already, even if we’re still in the city right now ;) Fresh durian, pineapple, papaya, rambutan and longans right out on the street outside our hostel, elephants walking in the streets, countless salesman and hawkers selling their wares...and HEAT – I haven’t been anywhere so warm and humid in quite a few months – it feels funny to have my arms exposed again and feel my skin, rather than being wrapped in layers ;) It is HOT here – it was about 30C/86F when we arrived last night – WOW ;) We’re off to hopefully find Bangkok’s very own raw food restaurant today – Rasayana – see HERE.
I’m not sure how much internet access we’ll be getting the next few weeks, so bear with us if you send messages and don’t hear back swiftly ;)

on April the 26th I had:

1.5 quarts water
1.5 cups pineapple juice
½ meal of blended gojis/almonds, with a little grawnola alongside ;)
1 quart water
little handful of seaweed
1 tbsp wheatgrass powder
1.5 quarts water
other half of blended goji/almond meal, with a little grawnola
handful of fresh sprouts and seaweed, a selection of little ‘bliss balls’ ;)
2 cups ‘kapha’ tea
3 cups water

Thanks for all the yummy messages that have been coming in about the ‘Raw 5 Years going on 6 Years’ video myself and the Monarch posted last week ;) We’re glad to hear many of you have been enjoying it too – it was certainly fun to film ;) Here’s a comment left by one reader - Lyn - about the video, that I found amusing ;)

“Angela, your new Maria von Chia clip made my day! Matt's inner von Trapp captured on film was priceless! Thank you again for your daily blogs, you are truly inspirational. Love from Lyn in Manchester, UK”

If you haven’t seen that particular YouTube offering yet, you can access it HERE – let your ears soak in the subtle pleasures of raw food musical world ;)

Have you seen RawMom.com yet? If you haven’t, this is another little side-venture from those lovely Raw Divas Tera and Amy that I would HIGHLY recommend. WOW. RawMom.com is a blog written by 7 actual, literal, living, bonefide Raw MOMS, who live all over the world :) They each write one day a week, sharing tips and guidance on their areas of interest and there is some FABULOUS info in there to access. I am just so delighted to see that there’s a clear place for people who want to bring up little raw magic monkeys to get guidance from others who are living this way, have gone down the path already and have a wealth of experience to share. I love it :) We even got the chance to meet one of the seven lovely ladies this weekend when we spoke in Melbourne – Joanne came along and it was lovely to meet her, along with the inimitable Gala Darling and many others we have connected with previously via the internet – THANKS to you all who came along... ;)
Now...on with the durian munching ;)

Raw 5 Years, Going on 6 Years...

OOOOOOOooooo la la – that cheeky young maiden, Maria von Chia has been up to some more ‘Sound-of-Music-Inspired’ mischief on YouTube...you can check out her latest warblings HERE (watch out for the mystery guest ;)...

Here are the lyrics in full:

-----------------

Raw 5 Years going on 6
by Angela Stokes

You wait little girl,
With an empty plate,
For raw food inspiration.
You wonder how to be healthy,
When surrounded by temptation... (Temptation...)

You’ve been raw 5 years, going on 6 years,
Baby it’s time to think.
Better be careful how much you detox...
And how much green juice you drink.
You need someone, who’s been raw longer, showing you what to do...
I’ve been raw 7 years, going on 8 years. I can take care of you.

Totally unprepared were you, to face the world of raw.
You thought that it was just about food –
There’s really SO much more...
Physically, emotionally, mentally, socially,
Your life’s flipping inside out.
You want to be healthy, as a raw foodist?
I can show you what it’s all about...

I’ve been raw 5 years, going on 6 years,
I know that I’m naïve.
Fellas may bow and offer cacao and willingly I’ll agree.
I need someone, older and wiser, showing me what to do.
You’ve been raw 7 years, going on 8 years.
I’ll listen to you...

Totally unprepared was I, to face the world of raw.
Yes, I thought that it was just about food...
I see there’s so much more…
Physically, emotionally, mentally, socially,
My life’s flipping inside out.
I want to be healthy, as a raw foodist.
So show me, what it’s all about...

----------------

MMmMMmmmMMmmm, thanks for all the yummy feedback that continues to come in for ‘Raw Emotions’ – it’s so lovely to hear abt the shifts y’all are enjoying...here are a couple of recent comments:

“THANK YOU for "Raw Emotions"!! …this couldn't have come at a better time for me as, despite embracing raw food wholeheartedly, I've been struggling with the emotional side of things after so many years of food having been my best friend/worst enemy. It has your characteristic warmth and intelligence on every page, and has so obviously been created with a lot of love. I'm reading it slowly so as to relish what is already proving to be such a great source of comfort and strength as I tread my path away from the darkness and into the light! Congratulations and Thank you! ~Kaye xx”

I love your book! Really! Such a fabulous resource for anyone wanting to do any 'feeling' work. You've managed to put so much in the same manual, and introduced it in such an easy gentle manner! Thank you! Victoria.”

WOW, thanks for the feedback :) If YOU haven’t dipped into the flow of Raw Emotions yet and would love to, you can get more details and read an excerpt HERE – enjoooooooooy :)
...and yes, for all of you who have been asking - we will get Raw Emotions made as a printed version too, as soon as possible (it's an e-book format at the moment). We're currently securing a yummy eco-friendly printer to work with...we hope to have it available within the next couple of months in the printed version... ;)

1.5 quarts water
3 incredible persimmons, 2 feijoas and the last few grapes from our orchard haven

Thanks to Gina for passing on this recent lovely request from Victoria Boutenko, who has a stack of old editions of ’12 Steps to Raw Foods’ to give away to libraries, shelters, prisons and so on – read on for more info:

“Dear Friends, Since publishing the new edition of my “12 Steps to Raw Foods” book, I have retrieved lots of copies of an older version from bookstores. I consider the new edition to be so much better, that I encourage everyone to read the new one. The old ones, I have stamped “not for sale” and am currently giving them away to those who absolutely cannot afford to buy a new one. I have sent one copy to every library that you mentioned already in your emails last year, when we were sending out the damaged copies of “Green for Life”. If you know of any more places that could use a free copy of that book, please email me the address. That could include schools, libraries, home schooling groups, shelters, orphanages, ashrams, prisons, nursing homes, hospices, vegetarian groups in third world countries (who can read English), retirement communities, juvenile probation centers, hospitals (hee hee hee) and wherever else you can think of. I have approximately 500 copies left. I would appreciate donations towards postage. Thank you for your help! Raw Family Publishing 280 East Hersey Street Unit 7 Ashland , Oregon 97520 Victoria@rawfamily.com

NICE WORK, Victoria :) Ahhhh, what a love she is :) I hope many of you have suggestions for her of places to send the books and spread the good message far and wide ;)

The Purple Corn Princess...

So, as you may have noticed, we’ve been adding dozens of new products lately to the RawReform Store. You can see all the new yums to play with HERE and below is a partial list of the new goodies:

Raw Emotions Fridge Magnet
Cacao Paste – block of blended cracao – WOH ;O (see picture to right)
Colosan – incredible, gentle colon cleanser
Tat Tvam Asi – divine devotional chanting CD from India
Hemp Maca E3Live Protein Powder
Omega FoodPro Food Processor
Organic Raw Pistachios
Noni Fruit Powder – powerful stuff ;)
Raw Wild Jungle Peanuts
Camu-camu powder – supposedly the highest source of Vitamin C in nature, weight for weight.

One item in particular has been attracting the interest of some of you though – the PURPLE CORN – ahahahaaaaaaa, yes, indeed...why purple and what to do with it? WELL, you’re in luck, dear ones, as it just so happens that a magical friend of ours in the UK – Kate Magic (yes, that’s her real name) - is quite the purple corn princess and has this fabulous info and recipe to share with y’all, from her site rawliving.co.uk:

“Purple corn is a powerful antioxidant which comes from Peru. It is a plant which is greatly revered in Mayan culture; it is said to be the plant of remembrance. It is a very ancient plant, and like eating algae, eating it connects us to our ancient cellular memory. There is an ancient Hopi prophecy that says that when purple corn comes to the West, that is a sign that great changes are happening on the planet.”

I'd also add to this, that purple corn is said to have anti-inflammatory properties, is supportive of tissue regeneration, helps reduce cholesterol and improve circulation...ooo la la...
Ah-hah :) So...wonderful, you’ve bought your bag of magical, third-eye bumpin’ purple kernels and ground them down to a powder in your blender – whattaya gonna do with them now? Read on for a yummy recipe ;)

On March the 24th I had:

1.5 quarts water
1 quart watermelon/mandarin juice
1 quart apple/cucumber/celery/dandelion juice
1 pint water
1 quart watermelon/mandarin juice
1tbsp paste: spirulina powder, maca powder, bee pollen, honey, water
3 cups ‘5000’ volts: celery/red pepper/hot pepper/garlic/orange juice, with added cucumber and lettuce leaves
1.5 quarts water

…and here it is - the promised VERY special purple corn recipe to enjoy – with MEASUREMENTS – wow, you can tell this gal’s a pro ;) This is taken from ‘Raw Magic’ by Kate Magic Wood, which will be published by Rawcreation very soon - on April 1st 2008. The world's first superfood recipe book :)

Purple Power Pudding

Serves one
Blender
5 mins

Purple corn and cinnamon is an exceptionally tasty combination, and this pudding combines them with Etherium black to produce a treat that makes you feel empurpled and empowered.

1 large avocado
1 tbsp tahini
2 tbsp lucuma
1 tbsp agave
100 ml or 1⁄2 cup water
1 tsp purple corn powder (grind down kernels before-hand)
1/8 tsp Etherium black (optional)
1 tsp cinnamon

Peel and pit the avocado. Put all the ingredients in the blender together and blend for a minute until smooth. Serve topped with blueberries, blackberries, or chopped figs – any purplicious fruit.

on March the 25th I had:

1.5 quarts water
1 quart watermelon/mandarin juice
couple of handfuls of fresh figs, straight from the trees
1.5 quarts water
1 pint zucchini juice
little bowl of mixed sprouts, karengo seaweed, finely chopped broccoli and sunflower seeds covered with sauce made from blending together cucumber, garlic, curry spice and kelp.
2 cups water
1/2 a watermelon
2 cups water

…and while we’re in the realm of Ms. Magic, I’d love to share a link to a YouTube video she recently forwarded me. It’s called ‘Food Court Musical’ and I think it’s an absolute classic :) As I’m sure you’ve probably gathered by now, I like to be in musical world...and this video brings the whole song and dance routine crashing RIGHT into ‘reality’ in a random shopping mall in the US, as a whole team of planted improv actors from the group ‘Improv Everywhere’ burst into full song in the food court...LOVE IT :)))) ENJOY :))))
