Ahhhhhhhh, I’ve had a great day today on Day…72…wow…only 20 days left of a juicy lifestyle…eeeek…I feel a little distraught when I think in those terms…when I was 20 days INTO this juice feast, that seemed like such a huge number and such a big deal to have got that far…now that it’s only 20 days to the end, I feel like that’s such a short amount of time…lol…what to do…?
Today I have had:
500ml (1 pint) water
500ml (1 pint) orange juice with hemp oil
1 litre (1 quart) spinach/beet greens/coconut water/green powder
1 litre (1 quart) mozote juice
1 litre (1 quart) ‘5000 volts’ – celery/orange juice/garlic/red pepper
½ packet sugar cane sticks
2 tbsp bee pollen
800ml (3.25 cups) celery/red pepper/pineapple/hot pepper juice
1 tbsp honey
400ml (1.5 cups) water
1 tbsp green powder
…which would be about…5.2 litres or…abt 1.37 gallons…
I woke to find my scalp was still extremely itchy today and decided to give myself a huge break and not drink the leftover guanabana/greens juice from last night. It was actually a very empowering experience for me to return that stuff to the earth, with thanks, as in my past I would always have felt compelled to consume the whole thing, without question. I no longer wish to treat this body in that way however, so, to let that drink go, rather than ‘make’ myself drink it all felt really nourishing to me…plus it meant no more itchy head ;)
I actually also ended up giving back to the earth lots of the next green juice I made today after that too…my stomach felt extremely unsettled after drinking the spinach/beet greens/coconut water mix and after a litre of it, I just couldn’t go on…I was extremely relieved however to be downtown, near the juice bar at that time and got a whole litre of mozote (the stomach-soothing, kind-of-gloopy thick stuff – apparently also known as mozote in English…Latin name 'Triumfetta spp.') That really settled my stomach and I soon felt much better…
It is very interesting for me to watch how the messages from my body become more and more direct and acute. It does not feel so easy to ‘push the boundaries’ anymore of what it will accept, as these events today highlighted for me…it feels very clear now what is going to sit well with me at any given moment and what feels less than optimal…I really appreciate that…
All love,

Sweet things...
Reasons behind my feeling happy today:
1. I got a FRIDGE in my new place – finally – I’m so excited – have been here around 2 weeks now, with no fridge…my landlords were searching for one and today it arrived and I’m delighted…it has been an interesting challenge to be juice feasting and using massive quantities of produce a day, with no real fridge – just using cooler boxes and taking things back and forth from the fridge in the house next door, but now I am happy to be done with that particular challenge and to step back into the modern world of refrigeration ;)
2. I watched the film ‘Little Miss Sunshine’ again – soooooo sweet and uplifting, I love it…I only saw it a few weeks ago, but it was really enjoyable to see again – I really recommend it for the feel-good factor, great acting and magic soundtrack…I came out of watching it feeling extra happy and delighted with life ;)
3. I feel so blessed to have great friends and raw beings in my life... My beautiful friend Kate summed it up this way…
NICELY PUT :)))
Today I have had:
200ml (.75 cups) water
200ml (.75 cups) orange juice
800ml (2.5 cups) pineapple juice with green powder
1 tsp kelp with cayenne
1 tsp coconut oil
water of 3 old coconuts with green powder
500ml (1 pint) orange juice
½ packet sugar cane sticks
1.5 litre/quarts guanabana/greens/hot pepper juice
500ml (1 pint) water
which be about 4.5 litres or…around 1.2 gallons…which is not a great deal…today was a bit odd for me with juice flow – I did not have much most of the day, then in the evening made a HUGE batch of guanabana juice with greens, which was really tasty but waaaay too much for me late at night – it was around 3 litres/quarts in total, so I drank abt half and am hoping the rest might still want to be friendly tomorrow…I am also noticing that after drinking it, my scalp is really itchy…feels bizarre…another odd symptom that I seem to experience at times after sweet things…
sweet dreams to all,

Back at basecamp...
...ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh…back in the city now, back at the place I’m staying in San Jose…hmmmmmmmmmmm…feels really good actually to be back – to bring that yummy relaxed and refreshed feeling here with me, get home, do my laundry, unpack, back to juicing with a Vitamix and down to business answering all the unanswered emails of the last week or so…and back to blogging in sync again hopefully now too ;)
…on Dec 27th I had:
1 litre (1 quart) water
1.5 tbsp green powder
2 litres (2 quarts) greens/celery/pineapple juice
1 litre (1 quart) water
1 tbsp pollen
water of 1 old coconut
½ litre (1 pint) coconut water w/green juice and green powder
1 tbsp kelp with cayenne
1 tbsp hemp oil
water of 1 old coconut
making about 5.5 liters of liquids…or abt 1.45 gallons…
This was a really relaxing day for me – I woke well-rested at the hot springs resort, spent the day soaking in yet more healing waters, sweating my pores empty in the steam dungeon and juicing, then headed into the nearby town for some old coconut action…I am really appreciating taking some ‘real’ time out these last few days from work – what an unexpected and lovely Christmas gift that has been to myself…to just take time away from the computer, chill and get fresh perspectives on things…yummy :)
Then today – Dec 28th – I had:
1 litre (1 quart) water
1 tbsp kelp granules with cayenne (LOVING that product)
1.75 litres (1 quart and 3 cups) greens/celery/pineapple/blackberry juice
juice of 2 orange coconuts
250ml (1 cup) water
2 tbsp pollen
1 tbsp hemp oil
250ml (1 cup) orange juice
1.5 litres (1 quart and 1 pint) guanabana juice with greens.
500ml (1 pint) water
which be…abt 6.5 litres of liquids or…abt 1.7 gallons…marvellous…
We travelled back to San Jose today through many beautiful little towns and winding hillside clusters…we stopped in one little place and I felt such peace there…it was beautiful and realy inspired me …just a very little, sweet hillside community – the kind of place where it feels unlikely that anyone locks their doors, kids safely play out in the streets and people all say ‘hello’ as they pass each other…I loved the feeling of simplicity there and hope to find a nourishing little place like that to dwell for a while myself sometime soon…
So…day 39 I believe today…am kind of losing track…how am I feeling…? Well, primarily amazed and delighted to have made it through a 6-day road trip with no real hassles in terms of getting enough juice and feeling good…THAT is a very useful thing for me to know I can do and to be able to share with others…I’m also feeling good that this feels just so much a way of life for me now – before I was ‘in it’, it all seemed a bit ‘huge’ and intimidating from the outside…now I’m in here, in juicing world…it just seems so very natural and easy…the only thing that really makes me consider the desire to eat again at the moment is the thought of durian ;)
We stopped by the supermarket this evening on the way back in to the city and OMG – they have organic pears and apples now…I was soooo happy…for anyone not living here in Costa Rica and trying to ‘eat’ organic, this may not seem like a very big deal, but for me, this is HUGE – I have been really craving pears and they just aren’t available here – nearly all the fruit is HEAVILY sprayed here…so, I was completely delighted to find a whole new section of organic pears and apples from the US on display in the supermarket…they are extremely expensive by CR standards – about $2 per fruit, but sooooo worth it to me right now… :)
I am also DELIGHTED to say that many people have been contacting me in the last few weeks to express their interest in juice feasting themselves, starting January…I applaude and support you all. I am helping those who are interested in having contact with others to join together. One member of this group – Stephanie - has created a new blog space to support the journeying of those interested – you can check it out here:
http://barenecessitiescafe.blogspot.com/
So, check that out if you want to get connected and also, as before, anyone interested in having their email address added to a list of people for juice feasting, so that you can collectively support each other, you can write to me at rawreform@rawreform.com and I’ll add you on to the email list to be shared...
All love to you all for now :)

One month in...
DAY 30 :O …wow…a month in…about 1/3rd of the way through…WOW…and what a BLESSING to be back in the land of fully-functional blogging, after the last week of not being able to publish… Blogger.com had this blog locked up while they tested it for spam, but have now thankfully released it… did you think I’d fallen off the juicy joy wagon and plummeted head first into the nearest fast food joint…? LOL…nope…still going strong and happy here…as you can read if you take a look below through what I’ve been experiencing the last 8 days or so, offline…I wrote every day still, even though it was not possible to publish my meanderings – I love blogging now… :)
Today I have had:
1 litre (1 quart) water with lime juice
2 litres (2 quarts) celery/greens/pineapple/blackberry juice
3 tbsp pollen
250ml (1 cup) of the gloopy-linseed-water-like stuff (still don’t know the name in English)
water of one green coconut
500ml (1 pint) water
2tbsp hemp oil
1.5 litres (1 quart and 1 pint) greens with coconut water
making…about 5.75 litres or 1.5 gallons of fabulous fluids today…
I woke really low in energy today, on all levels – physically it felt hard to do my yoga, emotionally it felt hard to feel any joy and spiritually it felt hard to connect or feel love. Wow. It was pretty ‘blank’ overall and bleak…I felt frustration too, at almost all around me – like nothing satisfied me and all was difficult in some way…fortunately I found a way to bring myself round out of this lull…I went and made lashings of juice and while doing so, poked around on YouTube for entertainment, to lift my spirits and get me laughing – I found the perfect remedy, in the form of this clip from ‘Olde English Comedy’:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O8NuFlwbkCU
I’d never heard of these guys before, but they got me laughing out loud and into a loving space again today, which then persisted for the rest of the day, so I’m definitely full of gratitude for their contributions…There’s lots of other clips from them on there too – I love it…check out the 'Peanut Butter’s Birthday' song for example:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nM33DIHAmH8
Today I felt ‘restrictions’ around being on this feast that I had not noticed so much until now – namely
1. I am feeling a strong desire to go and travel and see more of Costa Rica, but feel a bit inhibited by my daily juicing requirements…hmmmmm…how to travel with juicer/blender/produce in an unfamiliar country where organic produce is hard to find and enjoy 60 more days of juicing…
2. I saw THE most enormous, incredible-looking guanabana fruit I’ve ever seen today as we strolled around the produce markets…as I was marvelling at it, the vendor happily carved me off a chunk of guanabana from another fruit…which of course I didn’t eat, but would have soooooo enjoyed…hmmmm…
Bizarrely, I have also begun to notice that MOST food now smell interesting to me – including cooked food smells. I find this very curious. A few months back, as a raw food EATER, I did not find the smells of cooked food appealing – rather more, they mostly smelt dead and greasy and odd to me…now, in this feasting state, I am finding nearly ALL food smells appealing…odd…I suspect perhaps it has smthg to do with the fact that raw food simply doesn’t smell as much and actually, I don’t come into contact with very much of it at all here in comparison to the abundant cooked food smells on the streets here…hmmmm...let me be clear here though - there is no way I can imagine I would actually EAT even any raw foods right now, let alone anything cooked - that is not a question for me - it just interests me to notice myself finding such smells appealing again...
Feeling great overall tonight - happy to still be feasting, happy to be back online and happy to feel healthy :)
All love for now,

Out with the old...

Wow..DAY 7 :)
So…here we are a week into this cleansing feast and it’s going soooo well – I feel really good. This feels so easy-going – I have barely had any hints of hunger and feel so functional overall – whereas I often end up pretty out-of-it when doing juice fasting… I love this – no hassle…
Today I have had:
1 litre (1 quart) water with lime juice
1.7 litre (1 quart and 3 cups) green juice with carrots and raw honey ;)
2 litres (2 quarts) master cleanser
400ml (1.5 cups) coconut water with green powder
200ml (1 cup) mango and grenadilla juice
1.25 litres (1 quart and 1 cup) ‘blood’ – green juice with beetroot, radish, carrots and ginger
Which makes about…6.3 litres or 1.6 gallons of liquids today…WOW…
Today I remembered what David Rain told me about the importance of doing enemas, as the body ‘abhors a vacuum’, so when we keep cleaning out the large colon – whatever there is in there – it creates space for the small intestine – the one holding the really unpleasant stuff, for most people – to release more waste. I had not done an enema yesterday, so it felt good to remember this good reason for keeping up with them daily right now…
The cleansing is really working for me – today I released what seemed like some seriously old matter – it was quite an intense experience. I felt physically nauseous, then after the stuff had left my body, it was like there had been a significant shift in my structure – like something very old and toxic was gone…it was great…then afterwards I felt quite vulnerable emotionally – like something huge had shifted and I wanted to just curl up and hide under a blanket…interesting shifts going on…
I also did a bentonite clay mask on my face and neck today, as my skin seems to be happily throwing out all kinds of junk, so I wanted to help it in that process…a guy who did my iridology a few months back told me that the main issue I’m currently manifesting in this body is blocked/old lymph tissue in the neck…sure enough, my neck is now starting to throw stuff out of the skin…
I went for a looooooooong walk in the park here today – it was beautifully sunny and it was lovely to see all the families out picknicking and enjoying the ‘rural tourism’ fayre…one guy had a HUGE jackfruit for sale, but someone else got in there before me…hmmmmmm… ;) After walking so much today, I didn’t feel to go jogging too, so did some skipping at home instead to get some cardio work in…it felt good – like being a kid again – remembering how to move and skip in different ways…
Moving on into week 2 tomorrow – yeeeeeeeeee-HAH – just another 13 or 14 or so repetitions of this and it’s all over…imagine :)
One love,

Exotic explorations...

YUMMY new discovery of today:
Guanabana fruit :)
Wow…delicious…
Kind of similar to a cherimoya (custard apple) in flavour – sweet and creamy juiced – yummy :) like a cross between…hmmmmm…peaches and apples and…kiwi…
Here is a slide show of pictures from the beach on the west coast of Costa Rica yesterday – mmmmmm…beautiful…
I’ve been feeling great today…the low energy of the past few days seems to have passed. I was feeling a bit raggedy on waking first thing today, but getting some fresh water with lime juice squeezed in first thing helped my body feel rehydrated and got my blood sugar up and running – GREAT start to the day…I jogged in the park again, which felt great – so happy to keep that up :)
I have also been testing my pH in the mornings the last couple of days and am a resolute 7 so far – good :) – right in the middle of the scale – not overly alkaline or over-acid…we’ve been talking about the implications of getting very alkalised the last couple of days – having a very acid body is not desirable of course, creating environments for disease, but going very very green and becoming extremely alkaline seems to have the capacity for leaving one a bit dysfunctional maybe too, in a very different way. It seems like the more alkaline one is, the slower life becomes – like going towards a more monkey-like, simpler state – which again, like I was musing on yesterday, is great if we’re totally ready and willing and delighted to go and live in the wild and have clean, simple existences, but being very green and alkaline in a very acid, toxic, polluted, fast world might not really be a very comfortable thing to create, ultimately…
Today I have consumed:
½ litre (1 pint) water with lime juice
1 litre (1 quart) tomato juice with cilantro and parsley
½ litre (1pint) pineapple juice
200ml (1 cup) guanabana juice
300ml (1.5 cups) coconut water with green powder
1 litre (1 quart) green juice
400ml (2 cups) guanabana juice
1.5 litre (1 quart and 1 pint) ‘blood’ – lettuce, celery, spinach, beetroot, carrots, parsley, radishes, cayenne.
Making nearly 5.4 litres of liquids today (abt 1.5 gallons)…yeeeeeeee-HAH…this truly is a feast…
Another fun discovery of the day: YOUTUBE.com …well, I’ve seen the site before of course, but have never uploaded anything myself – here is my first upload – the BBC News item on my weight loss transformation, which first aired about a year ago in the UK:
All joy, much love,
Angela. xxx
